This is post #502 in this thread. It has now eclipsed Shanee's BeltCP thread.

Yes, I did fly today. A little 2 minute demo flight for one of my burger-drones at the "other" King. He was amazed at the power this little "toy" had and was about to duck and cover when I went into my 6-revolution piro.

They never ask about technique or construction - the first thing is always, "how much does one of those cost?"

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.

That's one I get even more than how high does it go. Peoples think its a toy that you can go get at Radio Shack for 59.99 and it's easy to fly.

Gregor , your second video was even better than the first, fantastic control . When you actually see the pilot during nose-in it makes it even more real.

Actually he did. He looked at me like I was crazy when I said well over 100 feet. I didn't bother to mention I was mortified at the time it happened.

It's morning, actually. Bedtime, to be more specific. Almost.

Nice scale heli!

Well like yesterday my day started out wind free and I broke a heli. But today was backwards. The Mini is now broken due to me doing something stupid and the king is still doing great! Only other problem is that on my 2nd battery, the heli didn't feel right. It was like I had no power. Yup, I forgot to charge #2 and now it is at 10.24v. That is the lowest I have ever taken any of my batteries too.

Anyhow it was a day of learning.

This is pretty darn impressive. I suspose having a second heli helps in case one is down waiting for parts. But even with fully functioning helis available all the time, it'd be darn near impossible me to touch this record. Good work, keep it up!

I haven't flown today, but I did visit a not-so-local hobby shop. I was out of town today and stopped in at a shop that I haven't been to in about 15 years. I had heard they were into heli's now, so since I was in the neihborhood, I thought I'd check out. First surprising thing, there behind the glass, were two new Mini-Titans! And yes, they even stock parts. Next thing that I enjoyed, yes they carry B400 parts, but they in the back. They had the usual display of Align parts. No T500s I'm afraid, but at least one well used 450 hanging from the ceiling. On the counter was a Raptor 30. I guess this is the small one. Compared to what I've been flying it was MASSIVE. Nice to see one up close now that I know more about helis.

They also had a nice selection of miniture 4-stroke gas engines. I'm not into planes but those motors were impressive by themselves.

While I was there, I picked up a set of Trex 315 wood blades. They were $13 and wow what a steal. I'm going to do the Besho blade mod and probably run them upside down since they are symetrical and I prefer the all white look.

Here's the Besho thread on the topic.

I got home early from the lake tonite and it was so nice out, I got 2 flights on one of the 450's and 1 flite on the 600. I was flying the 600 in the road and the cars wold almost stop to watch when I saw them coming I would do a climbout and wait for them to pass..."I didn't even have to use my AK.... It was a very good day"..

Tom..... No "D" flying....

Wonder if Ice Cube flies helis?

In keeping with the latest theme of "do you feel it" when going to fly, I was feeling it today. Went to the trusty softball park and decided to actually try some nose-in and full circles. I was shaky at first, but it went without a hitch. I put my perspective into the cockpit like I used to with the old FP, and the crashaphobia abated for the day.

Got some altitude (maybe 20 ft) and held a few nose-ins for 30 seconds or more. I didn't even bail out; I just transitioned into something else. I had forgotten how damn fast the King can get...

Went through 2 packs like this. I felt I could do no wrong. I wanted to fly another one, but RR posts kept flashing before my eyes. Packed up and brought it home in one piece.

Confidence works wonders. So does 85% dual rates.

Got in some good flights today, not on the HBK2 though, still waiting on parts so I took the Raptor 50 Nitro out for a spin, got about a gallon through it.

Had the same deal as the E550, with all the HBK2 flying I have been doing, the large 50 is easy to fly. Got so into It, I totally forgot it needs gas !!! and ran out about 30 feet up, So today I got to do my first Auto. It was a big non event, landed as smooth as you like

Trex arrived today so looking forward to putting that all together.

Ive been on helidirect at the workbench for the last half hour need I say more?

Rookie mistake just completely shutoff concentration and watched it fly forgot I was flying a heli. Came around a circle and let it get to close to me woke up in time to watch the crash.

At least it was on the second battery a new field makes things different.

The usual parts not bad for a faceplant in idleup 5ft up. I almost got back to a hover but planted the blades a few inches in the dirt I have never crashed this bad before. Maingear, spindle, flybar, landing gear and blades. Main shaft unsure still looks good need to spin it up to make sure. Servos all seem to be good so all in all not bad but the backup heli isnt flying right.
