Well I solved my blade tracking issue, turns out I've been flying with a bent spindle for 2 weeks Can't believe I didn't notice that after taking the head apart 3 times...

So I can finally run a decent throttle curve, forgot to start the timer so I don't know how long I flew, but the low voltage cutoff sure kicked in pretty quickly

Dan I hope you changed the dampeners also flying with a bent spindle doesnt help them out much.

I flew 2 packs in the toy heli out front. Now that I have a big pretty nitro to baby around the Rex is getting beat hard and my confidence is building very fast. Not 3D fast but I am relaxed and not having to concentrate much at all with nosein I still wont take my eyes off of it like all other orientations but close. Yes I know but when your flying in a tight spot with kids, dogs, cats, adults and vehicles you have to keep your eyes and ears open for any movement at all. The place I am flying is more stressing than the flying itself.

Glad you said that. I'm having the same experience with the T500 and HBK2 and don't really understand it. For some reason, I'm much more confident with the HBK2 after flying the T500. I wouldn't say that I'm babying the T500, probably flying it as hard as the HBK2 in the backyard. Getting the T500 thing up on a high banked turn in small space is quite a trip. But after than the HBK2 feels pretty darn tame.

On topic here. I flew the 600N today with more confidence and fun than ever!!

How? Why? I've been flying the 500 WAAY more than the 450.

The 500 has "desensitized" me.

Same thing as you guys, only different.

Well nearest I can tell,
the thump...thump...thump of the heart when flying
is directly correlated with speed at which the bundle of money hurtles through the air.

Increase the money,
or the speed,
and the heart rate increases too

I just got done with my most amazing flight ever
no video

I just got done using the Performance Plus pack,
and at this point there is no discernible difference
between it and my equal stat outrage.

I went out at about 6:30,
thinking I could get in all 5 packs before 8

Only got through 4 (was darkish by 7:30),
and was easy on each one.

But between having flown earlier today,
and having 4 packs at my disposal,
I was performing some pretty crazy stuff.

Complete circle infront,
both big and small.

Banking high and pirouetting at the top of the stall.

And all sorts of little zipping about between trees and bouncing back and forth with wonderfully fulfilling accuracy (thanx! nosein).

No words

besides the ones above

I know good advice when I ignore it ;)

Well I did build my first heli from scratch, so I've never had any trouble fixing these things It was a terrible heli and I had no flying skills at the time, but it worked. It was built from circuit board, stuff lying around the house and a few blade cp parts from lhs. It slowly destroyed itself over time and replacing the parts with bcp parts was considered an "upgrade"

Ya, I replaced them with some spare blade cp dampers I had lying around, they seemed a bit stiffer too.

Weather should be nice tomorrow, I've been wanting to try flips or loops again. Now that I have a dx7, I can't blame the tx if I crash

Your flying definitely requires stiffer head dampenning a funnel I assume creates a little disc loading may want to add some washers and tighten them down even more will make the head more responsive and less mushy feeling on the sticks.

Oh and as far as crashing and blaming it on the DX7 you can say it was a brownout on the AR6000.

Funnels certainly need lots of cyclic. I tried adding washers but then I can't tighten the nuts on the spindle as much without tightening up the thrust bearings, resulting in no change in stiffness.

I don't get the point of the thrust bearings, why can't it just have triple or double bearings and thrust washers like the blade cp? The belt cp only has one ball bearing and one thrust bearing in each grip so there is a lot of slop. The grips can both move up or down simultaneously and the blades droop down wen the rotor isn't spinning.

hey you dont have to convince me about blade cp slop I learned on one.

I never thought much of the E-Sky bearing setup either.

You may want to consider the CopterX head upgrade much tighter ebay has some great deals on them some as low as $50 for the whole head!

here is an idea from Trex what the CopterX (trex clone head) looks like.

Sunny, partly cloudy 80 degrees, and the wind 3-8 mph. Almost perfect.

Finally getting some decent weather Flew 3 packs through the belt so far and got it upside down a bit each time Did a couple of rolls and tight loops, even tried to hold it inverted at the top of a loop but after using plenty of forward cyclic to try and get it to stop, it was still coming straight at me, inverted Sim practice kicked in from there and I managed to roll it over just a couple feet from the ground What a rush !!!

Well I think I figured out what went wrong when I attempted that inverted hover, looks like the pin holding a washout linkage together came lose and caused the ring link to jam when that end of the swash got too high.

Maybe I'll try again tomorrow

So I decided to break down and buy one of those guru-z neon frames with belt drive tail. I wasn't sure of the FP or blade cp pro was getting it, but I think eventually they will both get it.

Guru-z frame was under 50. I'm guessing a DD tail setup would have cost me 25 or so plus the constant replacement of rear motor's.

I used my blade cp pro partial metal head with receiver and 3in1.

I also used the King II motor I had kicking around to give it just a little extra oomph. The king II stock gyro also works fantastic for what I'm doing (hovering).

I ended up modifying the stock king 2 rear pulley and shaft I had to give the tail a little more spin which was really my only complaint. That and the landing gear is made of glass. I gave it a small hop from 3 feet and it broke.

This is easily the best 50 bucks I've spent. I love this thing.

Guru-z

Unfortunatly, the battery was croaking. Using my 800mah 11.1 eflights I had.
