| More flights on the 4#3 today. I'm trying to get as many flights on it as I can while it's in such great flying form!
Still making progress. My average flight with it now may only involve 1 or 2 mid-flight landings. But I'm getting more flights all the way through the battery now.
The flights are starting to resemble my flights on the 450, both in look, and feel. The biggest difference is one of scale. I hold the 4#3 to a much tighter space. But I'm nearly at the same level of control with the 4#3.. nearly. I still won't try a side in with it, but even that will be coming before to long.
I'm learning: "Gentle on the controls". I have expo on the 450, so it's soft in the middle. No such luxury on the 4#3, so I've been needing to train the thumbs to do things in real time. Couple that to the much smaller scale, and it's a handful. The thumbs are finally figuring out not to throw the sticks around, even though it seems like the right thing to do at the moment. Easy does it, and it won't backlash.
But it's getting better. I'm excited about it at the moment. This is the best I've ever done with the 4#3. And it still looks awesome to see it hovering out in front of me. I'm starting to control it more, and chasing it less.
I love this little heli! (at the moment, because it's flying well...) I've reached that place with it that when my wife walks by and sees me flying it, she sighs, and rolls her eyes. Now you KNOW I'm spending to much time with it. hahahaa!
Helicopters don't fly, they beat the air into submission. |
