I used to have that chasing the heli feel

From what I learned your length of fingers matter

long fingers tend to need expo
short fingers need less

On my spektrum DX7 I am flying with -20 aile & -15 elev expo
no more chasing the heli
adding or removing expo doesn't change the heli
It changes the amount of stick you need to move

Blade

Interesting thought.

What's the smallest heli in your fleet?

Mike,

Nope, no weights. I don't think they MAKE weights small enough for it.
Also, because of the way Walkera set them up, I can't use my good radio, I'm stuck with the Walkera junk Tx.

I'll just keep flying it.
Each flight gets a little better.

Helicopters don't fly, they beat the air into submission.

My LHS has tiny generic weights with set screws.

59 cents.

Gaui has BIG weights for the EP100.

I'm just a beginner.

But look at the stability of this little 13" collective pitch heli.

Again, it's the weights performing, not me.

Look in the plane section of your LHS you will find 1/32" wheel collars.

I have a 450sa and a Raven30 both use the same amount of - expo

I'm way down there in the negative while my buddy who slightly larger hands only uses -5 for both Aile&elev

I kept trying to make my heli's cyclic faster that only helped a little

I'm sure this rule of thumb doesn't apply to everyone

But it sure seems to be the case with some of my buddies

BM

I can crash this heli in the vid as fast as I can sneeze!

No finger challenge, just "correct reflex" challenge here.

Maybe I misunderstood you used negative expo to speed up cyclic? I forget that futaba vs others expo is reversed. I have my TREXSE set to +/- 12degrees that moves her fast enough for me.

Ya Futaba is reverse
expo does nothing to the heli
it only changes the amount of stick needed

hey it's not how long it takes you
as long as your enjoying it

It took me 2 yrs before I could do nose in and do figure eights

Inverted flight next
