I ordered my Humming bird today, can't wait to get it in the mail. They are back ordered so they said about 2 weeks and I should have it. So for now I'm looking for all the video's I can find to drool over until mine gets here. I do have question though, I have seen the tail motor heat sink and was wondering if I should buy that so the tail motor won't run so hot. And if so does the weight of it affect the performance much at all. Thanks alot this board rocks.

I have yet to have a problem with heat on my 'bird's tail motor.Unless your planning to do full on piro with it, the motor is usually barely above a slow idle. I would be far more concrned about the main rotor motor than anything, and even then it is always wise to let your motor(s) cool between flights (don't run one pack right after another).

BTW, you may want to make sure to order an extra batt pack or two as flying this little darling is quite addioctive and 90 minutes is a bit long to wait between flights!

Ok thanks alot for your information. I have ordered one extra battery along with the crash kit as I'm sure I'll need an extra set of blades...LOL
I was looking at the post about the litheum battery's and was wondering if those would be better and just make sure to let the motors cool off about every 15 min? Not really sure about it though as I'm new to the micro heli thing. Thanks again.

No problem. I haven't tried the Li batt route yet, but I have been looking at it more closely since reading up on the performance here. I don't know that I'd want to fly for 15 minutes straight as the motor gets quite warm/hot after going through the stock battery (5-6 minutes).

AS for the blades, you won't belive how tough they are! My 'bird has hit the ceiling, the walls and a hardwood coffee table and the blades survived through quite a bit. When I finally did get some damage, I used thin CA on the crack and let it set up and sanded down the excess glue. It flew like it was brand new so make sure you use those blades up before tossing them out!

Make sure you let us know when you get your heli and how things work out!

The li-poly cells are great. Even if you don't need the extra flight time, they are over an ounce lighter than the standard NIMH battery. On a HB, that is well over a 10% weight loss.
