Bergen R/C Helicopters > Just to check is this a 60 or 90?

Hi I bought this last year as a project as a Intrepid 90 but was given the 60 manual on a CD so before I start anything on it just by looking at the images can some one tell me which one it is. I eventually want to covert it to petrol/gass as my main heli for lifting camera gear, Chris as already told me I need to extend the frames on it to fit in the Zenoah G260PUH Heli Version in it. The green one is my Raptor 50 for size comparison.

I think the easiest way to tell is probably the gear ratio or the length of the boom. I am sure Chris will chime in and tell you more. But if it is a 60 it will have a 10 pinion and 90 main (at least mine does but it is a lot older than yours)

If that is (or was) Brett's as it says on the canopy, I'm pretty sure he had a 90.

cheers for the info guys I was wondering about the name on the canopy I bought it locally (from a guy in Cheshire, UK) but the box has a lot of stamps on it from Canada(I think) must be it's original box it came over in.

Just out of interest what is the largest size blades I can swing on it?

That's an Intrepid Magnum, which is a 90.

You can swing any 90-size blade you want.

You might consider converting it to a Tazer. It's Bergen's electric. I'm thinking about doing this with my gasser. Nearly the same duration as a gasser and no engine vibes. What could be better?

Mark I was wondering the same thing I've been flying nitro for a while and bought a slow stick the other week and love the plug and play of electric any info on costs etc....
I wonder if I could save buying the side frames if I did?

Cheers RCHelicopterGuy for the info.

I don't know what the distance between the side frames is on the Tazer and thereby, the width of the motor mount. Also, you would then likely have to fab the pulley/pinion block assy. While it might save a bit of money, it would be reengineering a lot of the drive train.
