I've read some downright awful things about this heli, but I love this little machine. Flies well in a decent wind and seems to have plenty of power. What I really need to know is if there are any "worth the money" upgrades to this heli. I've spent way too much money on upgrades for other helis that simply were not worth the money and would like to know if anyone else out there has experience with the upgrades that are available.

How do these perform compared to the FRP Kyosho blades? Noticable improvement?

No noticeable improvement over the optional composite blades from Kyosho. Of course over those terrible stock "foamies"........... big, big improvement.

Hacker C40-12S and a Hacker Master 40-3p ESC.

Best improvement you could ever make.

Been thinking of something along those lines. Of course the "I want" list is getting longer by the day and don't know which will end up at the top!

How about one of these:

Otherwise:
seesaw head if you don't have it

I would have to recommend the Kontronic 40-6-12 controller over the Hacker, (sorry Brian ) it has an incredible smooth start, the Hacker I've heard from numerous sources is a little rough. This is tough on gears which aren't always easy to find... Just try to find an EH035 in the US, argh, and don't ask how I know this!

I'm going to try the 1950 4/5faup (35g to 39g depending who you ask) cells over sub-c's. At between 15-20g/cell weight difference (compared to Panasonic 3000NiMH 55g), that's a lot of weight loss, and the cells are supposed to have no probalems at 40 amps and above. Much more than this heli is putting them through. (ref: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...9999#post869999)

Pete,

I had read that post about the 1950 batts. If you decide to get them let us know how they work out.

I wish the li-poly cells would hurry and drop in price. Can you imagine 20 - 30 minute flights with your EP?
