I took a video from the helicopter the other day using our Panasonic NV-GS500 and have put the results through Deshaker - see what you think! Ignore the sound-sync problem ...

I took another video today with my A620 and haven't used stabilising software on it. See what you think!

I think I need to angle my camera mount a bit ... it's a bit crooked at the moment

Cheers!

Very smooth!
Enjoyed the pan following the van.

That was *entirely* fluke! I noticed it too in the video and thought, corr, I never saw that van there

As you can see I wasn't using the downlink, just trying to fly as smooth as possible whilst looking at the helicopter

Thanks!

No that's just the standard 38mm (35mm equivalent) lens ... with dust on it ... or in it - it's an old camera!

Thanks for your kind comments! I think I will enjoy venturing into HeliAV! Would love to get my hands on an HD camcorder ....

I've now upgraded to flybarless, and soon I will be incorporating a ball on the front to give protection to the camera and also to aid visibility!

Here is how it looks at the moment:

(My homemade downlink unit! Contains a 2s1p 800mAh LiPoly pack, and a 5V regulator (this gives 5V to the downlink transmitter and the camera). The unit also takes the video output from the camera and feeds it to the downlink transmitter The servo plug at the top left allows the battery to be charged easily )

Cheers!

David

PS. The wires hanging over the front of the camera are the downlink and power cables which I hadn't plugged into the camera ....

Nice!

With the HC cover the PC port with tape to keep dirt from getting in. Backup the cable with tape or something just in case it decides to pop out during flight.

Thanks for those ideas Nooobs I will do that straight away. Using the Helicommand is rather like having all ones eggs in one basket if that cable were to pop out! ... would be the equivalent of the basket handle breaking

Cheers

Oh yeah...

Your HC unit is currently being held with the foam tapes. I also back mine up with elastic band... It doesn't hurt to have it on...

Mmm also a good idea Maybe a thin strip of tape would do the job?

Cheers,

Anything really. As long as it doesn't hinder the foam tape from absorbing vibrations. I figure elastic band will do the job.
