Well I'm finally home for a couple of days and had all the necessary parts shipped in while I was gone to revive this bird. It's almost going to be a brand new ship because of all the damage from the last chicken dance Hopefully I'll get to test fly tomorrow before I go back on the road

The Stingerbee MK. 2

Well after a full afternoon and evening it's ready for test flights tomorrow(all I have to do is clean up the wires) The major changes from the original is a JR S185 tail servo, Walkera 60 belt, Blade 400 tail control rod (cut down a little) and I'm now using Align 315 woodies. I'll have a vid up tomorrow

Thanks, I got some time to refine my settings while on the road so now it flies great and is very predictable

Just noticed some nice things in your hbk2. the tail rotor is in the oposite side than stock

which rotor head is that?

does that headset works better with the flybar before the main blades?

which landing skid and vertical/horizontal fin sets are you using?

looks like we've got some interest in the flip action...

neon, not only has the tail been flipped, the main rotor as well...it's for future scale build, check out my gallery

UT: yep the tail is on the the other side cause the main blade rotation is CCW instead of the clock wise rotation of the stock(and most for that
matter) setup. I did that in preparation for the scale fuse it's going to be getting soon. The different head started as a "what if" thing and I grew attached to it. As for all the non-stock parts here's the list:
Head- T-rex XL
Blades- Align 315 woodies
Canopy- Rex XL
Tail- Rex Sa complete assembly
43T pulley
Aluminum tubing for the boom (longer than stock)
Tail Belt- Walkera 60
Skids- Blade 400 struts bored out to hold Rex skid tubes
Main Gear- Blade 400 w/matching 10t pinion
Vert./Horiz. Stabs- MX 400
Tail pushrod- Shortened Blade 400
Boom supports- Rex XL
Battery tray extension is a battery tray for a HDX 450

The electrical setup is:
Esky servos on the swash
JR S185 on the tail
Esky 3800Kv outrunner w/ Esky 25amp ESC
CC 10 amp BEC
Esky 1500mah 15C lipos
Eflite G90 HH gyro
Futaba 6EXH TX, Hitec 6ch RX w/whip antenna

I think that covers just about everything

Yeah that pretty much sums it up I have this problem that I can't leave things stock and am too cheap to get the usual metal bling

yeah but i'm sure that's way more expensive than getting the metal things

i was about to ask how it would fly with the 315 blades then you said you have a bigger tail boom=)

Stopped keeping track on the cost a while ago. The "WTF" factor at the flying field makes it worth it by itself Yeah it's stretch out to pretty much a 450 size bird all around.

You say you have a B400 main gear. I was looking at one in the LHS and I just can not see how it will work. Any insight?

Ut- the rex head mod requires the Esky metal swash so you can change the balls on it to align size for the mixing arm links
TJinGuy- the B400 maingear will just bolt right in. Get the one with the
one-way in it already and use the one-way drive link from the HBK(fits right in) and bolt it on It runs smoother and truer than the stock
one.

Well I will have to just give that a try. The stock gear is kind of lame but it does work I guess Next time I am up at the LHS, I will pick one up.
