| Neal's background was film sets and designing/building/working in the film industry..
Dave started as off as a graphic desinger, as a teenager was into building motor bikes and fixing engines...
He has taught model hellies for over 10 yrs now, and was involved in the design from its concept.
When i first was learning nearly 5 yrs ago the machine was in its intial proto type stage, Dave would be having a go at flying it, shake his head cos there was something that he was not happy with, Neil would then come up to field and see, chat about it, go away make the mods...
What i like about the Avro is it is not just another new helicopter.
It has bought something different to the table, i see a lot of hellie come onto the market and they just too similar to others but have a different label on... or it maybe a new model which is in fact the upgraded one that should have been sold the first time around rather than using the public to be the test pilots...
The Blitz team were strong in their belief that all the testing would not be done by the customer, and they wanted to add something, not just put a new heliocpter on the market...
The servo supports arm, the Gyro plate - both are novel ideas, as are other features, i like the tail push rod, what a unique design, no flexing of wire like on the Venture,One of the many things i disliked about the Fury, as it was a pain in the neck to the gear alinged, and if you had an engine problem in a competition as some did that was it, you either had to forgo a round to get it fixed or change to another machine....
The Avro is simple, and i really do like it, i found it a little too sensitive at first, but after 4hrs of hard graft i am very happy with it and are looking forward to competing this year 2008.
