anyone use a GV1 and 2200 on the head? What gear ratio do i need to use to get this head speed considering the GV1 only goes up to 2100...

The Xtreme 50 has an 8.5:1 gear ratio. I am running between 2000-2100 rpm now and love it. Once I finish breaking in the YS 50 I will set it at 2100 and then let the CarbSmart maintain the needle for optimum power.

I was running 2100 with the gv1, and thought, yes this is pretty good, but then tricked the gv1 with from memory 9:1 gear ratio, which gives about 2200 on the head. 2200 is the sweet spot that my ys 50 likes to run, not to forget the power and response is very nice.

Make sure its properly built, nothing loose etc.

I may just run at 2100... that should be pretty close to the powerband of the motor

If i'm not doing snappy moves, i'll drop it to 1750.
Else i'll be spinning at 2000-2100

Don't even, for a second, think that it's a slacker at that 1750 rpm! The punchout is still enough to shame other makes!
