Hi

I don't own an rjx heli (yet) but I would like to make some experiences on another heli with the rjx main gear. I've read somewhere that the early rjx main gears had some problems during hard flight and thats why Rjx came up with the helical gear.

Well I would like to know if the strait main gear that is available now is somehow different from the early types or if nothing has changed.

Btw, anybody knows where to get that stuff in europe?

Thx

Tony

the original white main gears- people wanted quieter running ones, so RJX came out with the blue cnc ones. These are very smooth and quiet, but are also sofer, and can fail if pushed hard.

The xtreme 50s now have the strong hard helical main gears which have the best of both worlds- stong yet quiet.

Thx for the explanation.

So... are the white 85T gears still available?

Rather have a noisy heli then melting the gear in flight.

Yes, yes I know... why fix something that isn't broken.

Anyway my thought about this that the 8.7 ratio good if you use 620mm blades but not 600mm. The engine is always racing like no tomorrow even at speeds as low as 2000 rpm (17400). With the 8.5 ratio things are more managable. Of course, I might fail completely but isn't this hobby about experimenting stuff?

rsalazar: thank you very much.

I had good experiences in the past with centro levante. I'll give them a call
