Yes I have done the mods. Ground the motor,, tail boom bearings at the front of the boom and at the tail. Every thing that i can find.
silicone the belt silcone the belt. After my lock out sunday we checked the belt it was loobed good.We shot a new coat and flew 3 more times. The point I am trying to make we should not have to spray silicone on the belt every time we fly. I do not do this for any of the other heli's. I have never sprayed silicone on my other heli's. The belts should last longer, but i have never done it.

If spraying solves the problem then its no biggie, the heli flies that good, but of course thats IF it solves the problem, I would consider that the same as checking linkages and such before every flight and therefore would accept it, in a perfect world things would be perfect. Again I have about 10 flights with mine and zero problems I have bought the fasst system for my 14mz but I am sooo fearful of installing it on my 500 since with my PCM receiver I have had no problems, I hope that u have solved the problem with the silicon spray please keep us posted.

I'm not going to lie.... i didnt read though the whole thread, and this isnt going to be productive. So i'm only going to pick apart the first post.

Allen is in Texas.... Allen,TX (your home town i assume)
Allen Szabo is spelled with Alan.... Alan Szabo.... unless your talking about Alan Szabo's son... which is also spelled will Alan too... Alan Szabo Jr....

Now... seeing that Alan Szabo isn't on Team Align... i have NO idea what your talking about... why would he need to say anything? Why would YOU expect him to say anything?

Unless of course your talking about Alan Szabo Jr..

Why would he have anything to 'say' about this?? He flies what ever he's given... He is not the product's technical help line..... Have you ever seen Alan Szabo post answers to 'issues' on here? (he goes by Alan Szabo Jr on RR)

Thats about all i have to vent right now... sorry guys!

Zabo's name and Jason Krause's name are on the box as the designer. That's why he mentioned them.

You must not hav e a 500 or you would not have made a comment like that.

I called our local hobby shp[ today that we both shop at. I asked him what people are doing to fix the problem. He said they are using the new AR7000 receivers that reconnect quickly so you never know you had a problem. He is sending me a new one and I will give it a try.

Bought my AR7000 back last year, August, it didnt have the new firmware update QUICK CONNECT, so sent it back to Ryan Coxall of Horizon Hobby UK for free update. It was posted back in 3 days.

More that switch the better. Less 72 Mhz people on my channel. Always have had good luck on my FM stuff.

BTW, I wrote JK and as expected....no reply.

I also spoke to Horizon since they also distribute the Align products. The guy I talked to said he had never heard of the static problem.

I asked him to check with the other techs. He can back and said to spray the belt with silicon.

dude. Go to heli freak and read about the posts on static there... there is tons of solutions over there. if some of you have been on there, you have seen the test vids using a static tester and doing different mods to the heli to fix that problem.

I did a simple mod. Buy the metal tail case, sand off the anodizing where the tail case meets the boom, and there you go. No more static in my tail. I also went to napa and bought the can of silicone spray for 4 bucks and lube the belt after every couple of flights. I checked my heli with a static checker and the only static is around the main gear. (nylon spinning in air... happens on all helis)

We did all the mods and the tester showed no static except around the main gear. We flew and crashed. The next time we sprayed silicone and all is well.

All those mods may fool the tester but there is still static that the tester doesn't show. The silicone takes care of that. If you don't believe that try flying without spraying your belt and let us know what happens.

The silicone spray is the only solution.

So, someone sent an AR7000 back for a firmware fix that allows it to re-boot faster?

Stated another way, the fix is to have the AR7000 re-boot faster so that you can regain control before crashing.......and that is called a fix??????????

Like we're all gonna fly around and our AR7000's will be fast re-booting all the time.....that's some real high quality engineering.
Sound like a fix that came from the 3 Stooges, but I don't want to rub their name in the dirt.....

Get real.....that's no frickin fix at all

New belts are most likely on the way...

As a group we always find a way around these sort of things.

But intil the silver bullet has been found just spray the tail and go fly.
