| There is nothing wrong with the stock clutch or clutch bell. I've run three Caliber 30s, two of them almost since the Caliber 30 became available in the US, and have NEVER had a problem with the clutches.
The plastic clutch as well as the stock pulleys and gears are also more than adequate. If you start shearing teeth off the big main drive gear, it's time to replace your one-way clutch in the countershaft.
The pulleys that drive the tail rotor belt are plastic. The holes in the pulleys are "double-D" shaped, imagine a circle flattened on the top and bottom.
Over time, the flats tend to wear, and the holes can go round, causing you to lose TR control.
There are two solutions. One, spend something on the order of $40 to buy upgraded CNC aluminum pulley set (see Chris at RC Heliworks, he'll take care of you), or take the pulleys off the shaft (front and rear), clean everything well with alcohol to remove oil and grease, then use a small amount of JB Weld on the pulley bores and epoxy them to the shafts. Let cure a full 24 hours before flying, be sure not to let any seep into the pulley grooves. Again, after this fix, none of my TR pulleys has ever given me a problem. I've incorporated the JB Weld regimen into my Caliber 5 and Caliber 4 builds, as well.
