e-Align T-REX 450-500-600 > T-REX 450 Question about SE V2 Trueblood dampers ...

Hey fellas!

I just ordered a set of Trueblood dampers for my SE V2 head. I did a few searches and came up with a few different answers.

Do I need to do anything besides install these dampers? For example, I read that some are running the Align shim pack, forgot the p/n. Are you lubing these dampers with anything? When I upgraded my 600N to the Infinivation dampers they do not require any lube. Are these Truebloods the same or do they get lubed with some white lithium grease?

I know I should know this, but it helps to hear from people running these dampers with good luck.

Thanks!

I use a dab of grease to get the feathering shaft to slide through. Haven't needed to use any shims yet

These dampeners don't require extra lube, in fact the directions specifically say not to add any. I did install the extra shims-you just double them up, running 2 back-to-back where there used to be only one. Putting them in tightens everything up, but is not necessary.

You will want to use the shims (pictured below). The orientation is Blade grip-collar-shim-dampener-head block.

got the dampers today, came in a baggy, no directions, nothing to say whether to lube or not to lube. guess I'll find out tomorrow when I install them and see how the spindle goes in.

Don't worry. It's not too hard to put the spindle in. Some people put some lube in there but I don't and have had no problems yet (about 120 flights of hard 3d)

I noticed that the shims listed above have a larger ID than the spindle shaft. so they fit loosesly around the spindle. also, when I installed the dampers with shims and tightened everything up, the grips felt notchy. when I removed the shims they felt less notchy. Is this normal?

Got them installed with the shims centered up next to the collars. Really tightened the head up alot. Can't wait to fly this thing.

If the freaking high winds ever let up. Thanks DocJoe for the help!

they work great!

ok, got 6 test flights today and I can see that these dampers and shims make the head extremely tight and connected. It felt good with the stock dampers but feels great now! I was banging the sticks and it was reallly snapping to the commands. Thanks for the help everyone!

nope, not that I noticed. it seemed to fly the same but was alot more livelier. I didn't notice that it was wandering at all. Will give a few more flights tomorrow and see if I notice anything.

The notchiness goes away in flight because of the centrifugal force-pull the grips out and twist and you'll notice considerably less notch. After a while they will wear in, or you can install the shims in the thrust bearing assy.-double them up (2 on each side).

dampers

I received these dampers today but are somehow confused.
Does every site of the central rotor get 4 x dampers?
8 total and do I need to put the ring together with the old one which I found at the axial bearing?
And what about the small ring which was found against the old type damper rings?
Thanks for the help.
