I start to practice piroflip with the sim (G2).
The problem is TX mode: I fly using Mode 1.
That make the maneuver much more difficult
and require much more coordination...

Any suggestion / advise is welcome

Thanks in advance

Click on the forth item on the left in the home page and scroll down to the very bottom. The very last two video clips show Piro Flip and Piro Loop with Mode 1. The demonstrator is a Japanese 3D contest champion.

It really just takes practice. Take a look at Hongmin and his brother, all mode 1.

It definitley is much more difficult, but its not impossible. Just practise enough in G2 and then take it on to real life; I have found that piro-flipping in real life is easier than doing so in the sim (with the stock helis).

....then again you could also switch to Mode 2 which will make this maneuver as well as the rest of the piro-flip/thumbles/loops/circles much easier

Thanks guys for your replays
I guess I need to spend a lot of hours on the sim

Happy piroflips!

I wonder if there is anyone who can be able to change the mode successfully after several years of flying

But if i can get it started over again...i would fly mode 2 definitely

If you fly Mode 1, switching to Mode 2 is complicated, but nothing close to impossible. I have several friends that fly Mode 1 who have taken command over my Mode 2 airplanes and haven't had any major problems.

I have also seen guys switch from Mode 1 to Mode 2 fairly painlessly !

On the other hand, I think he who attempts a Mode 2 to Mode 1 switch must be close to crazy ...

The reason is Mode 2 is much more logical than Mode 1 and at least in planks, when a M1 switches to M2, all he needs to do is put the left hand away and he'll be fine.

apart from the obvious mixing hassles. would it be possible to switch the tail rotor and l/r cyclic channels in mode 2? i can't see any reason why it wouldn't work if you are not using any cyclic or tail rotor mixing.

I am on mode 1 at the moment, I can fly both mode 1 and 2 on aeroplanes and planning on being able to fly mode 1 and 2 helis in the near future.
At the moment I am learning 3D with mode 1. When I am happy I will then try mode 2. I know people would say just go to mode 2 now and save confusing yourself, but I want to eventually fly both mode 1 and 2, both with 3D flying.

I'm a sucker for punishment
