My LHS is out of HBK2 blades... What other brands will fit the HBK2? Eflite etc??

E flite woodies for the Blade 400 will work. They have to be shortened some but the wood quality much better than typical king blades.

Any blades with a max length of 290mm (275 - 290mm)and a maximum root thickness of about 6.5mm. You can use nylon washers/spacer for thinner blades. Take a blade grip bolt with you to make sure it'll fit in the blade hole.

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.

I just bought some 'Xtreme Hard Plastic White Blades' that are the same exact size as the King's (275mm).
Everybody is out of the Esky wooden blades.

those plastic blades seem tempting but I guess they are much harder then woodies and maybe even than cfk

I think a woodie weighs about 12g
what about the others?

where are you getting yours from besho? mine would come from a Dutch shop...

have you ever used the extreme blades of plastic fiber? the ones that are said not to be fit for 3d. i won't be flying 3d anyway for long time =)

thanks for the link neon I had in mind another shop...eventually I here picked up 3 sets of woodies

yeah, as we were talking, there really isn't any need for those plastic blades; I read they are a little heavier and to stiff for this machine. Plus I am running averything stock and this thing spins fast I find
but dunno, never used those plastic blades anyways

and I believe the balsa blades save pretty much your heli in case of a crash
yeah, I am trying new tricks with this machine (such as clean loops and rolls and maybe inverted fly...:rolleyes
I only hope they keep their quality standards, especially root-wise, regarding the numbers already in flight.

I believe also we'd be better on with lighter battery; I found those 1000mA and 1250mA but they are only rated 10C. So on 3900KV and 10 thooth, that might be tough on those little esky batteries.

might want to take a look a other better rated batteries later on.

comet, i ordered a battery from helidirect mega power 1350 mAh with 20C power using in the esky 3800 motor, and man, IM VERY IMPRESSED!!!!!! the reviews of the battery are bad, they say the battery puffs out early, i'm only in the 3rd cycle of it... we will see what happen after 20 cycle

its a very light battery so the king climbs up really really fast =>

and have you always used woodies or have you tried as well carbons?

this seems a fine setup, altough I am happy to spare those 10 grams with the 3900. I know the 3800 has a higher amp capacity though (25Avs20A I believe), but I am not pushing that hard, skill-wise and 8g esky servos-wise

I'll see what I can alrady do my current setup
I must say I lowered a little my pitch curve as not to bog the headspeed and lose both tail and cyclic authority.

I bet though that 1000/1350mA batteries is the way to go.

there's a good chance those batteries get bad revues because they are over discharged on to long flight imho
and pulling 18/25 at the and of discharge, when tension drops hard, isn't gonna help

i did buy my first CP helicopter almost 2 months ago belt cp... belt cp currently has the 10t pinion and using trex 450 wooden main blades because i got tired of balancing the esky wooden main blades.

i'm using hitech HS-55 Servo, they're Much better than Esky servo, and you have spare gear sets for Hitech HS-55, The esky servo is the same price as a gear set for hs-55 but these servos are worth the price.

i used carbon fibre main blades on belt cp for a while (until i crashed and broke one of them xp, i'm waiting for a new set) and the carbon main blades make a huge difference in foward flight and so...

i got my HBK2 2 weeks ago. i always used wooden main blades, upgraded the belt for the 43T Pulley and that's all.

i'm running it with 3800 kv motor with align 10T pinion with esky servos. i will change the tail servo for a hitech hs-55 i'm waiting from Helidirect.

I don't intend on upgrading it with metal head or carbon main blades.

i will upgrade it with the new xtreme Battery holder that's to be released soon and i will upgrade the Tail box to the aluminium and servo holders with alumium too.

i fly more the HBK2 because of its size in my backyard but i like the belt cp more. Also i'm chaning the belt cp for The Metal CNC head so i'm afraid to break it, and it's a reason for me to fly more with the Honey Bee King 2. I am being chicken but until i master hovering in all orientations i will just be careful with my Helicopters. =D

comet, i really recommend the 43T pulley upgrade. it's the best upgrade ever for the hbk2. it's a upgrade that you will notice very very well. i'm also using the new trex 450 tail blade, it grasps more air

yes, I dont wont to mess up to much with those helis

a 43tooth pulley and wider TR blades are going to be harder on belt, and motor, and headspead we need for cyclics.imo.
Still on the "heavier" 3800, and light batteries it might be worth a try as you suggest

Here's the info on the Xtreme blades:

Made of hard plastic fiber these blades are more flexible than the standard eSky wooden blades, but are approximately 14 grams heavier than the stock wooden blades.

Should not be used in place of Carbon Fiber Blades when running at higher RPMs.

These blades will generate larger lifting force than the wooden blades. You may need to trim down the hovering pitch.

Recommended for beginners that are looking for blades that won't be damaged as easily.

Blade tracking sticker and spacers included.

my mistake,
so the Xtrem plastic blades are softer than any other blades
they should be good for beginners at low headspead.
Those blades apparently are not gonna break that easy...

all way around, I believe those woddies are best for standard to intensive use.
Extrem use may require carbons, 1800KV/10or11tooth pinion and why not change the TR pullez while you're at it...
As beginners will be fine with plastic blades, 3100/9tooth and a mild throtle curve.
