Here in Cedar Rapids, sitting with about 60+ inches of snowfall recorded for the current year, and within a couple of inches of the most snow ever recorded in a single season since record keeping began...

...I sit with at least two reasons for the winter to finally give up, let the snow melt, and flying weather once again prevail...

a new DX7 radio for all my helis, and a new 30 sized muscle pipe for th OS37 on my Caliber 4.

It was 53 degrees here in N.E. Pa. today. Almost all the snow has melted. I'm almost finished with my 4th gallon for 2008.
I was out flying today and yesterday too.
Nice on the DX-7.

Dave,
Has the weather allowed you to get out and try your new pipe and DX7?
Curious as to what you thoughts are regarding the Spektrum Radio.
I have loved mine.

Well here just north of Montreal, Quebec, Canada we have 350+ cm of snow this winter and it did not stop us from flying. Friday I got 9 flights in and today 8.

I wish I could fly 24/7

No, I haven't gotten out with the new DX7 yet. But...

I replaced the DX7...

with a JR X9303 2.4 GHz radio. I took advantage of JR/Spektrum's buy a radio and extra receivers, and get free receivers deal.

I just got the programming transferred from the DX7 to the X9303. The DX7 transmitter is now for sale....

Update...Two Reasons for Winter to End in Iowa

Wow. This past weekend...first time back out to fly since late November.

Saturday -- about 48 degrees, overcast, 25-30 mph winds, but DRY and no snow on field. Flew anyway, wearing gloves. That first flight was a bit dicey for the first minute or so till I got my thumbs back. A bit rusty at first, but didn't take long to burn the cobwebs out.

Sunday -- about 58 degrees, light winds, broken overcast. Much nicer.

----

The DX7 TX is gone, having been replaced by a JR X9303 2.4 -- Super radio. Works great, programming is dirt simple, and flawless connection.

The new MP2 on the OS37/Caliber 4 -- really woke up the dead. The Caliber 4 is a whole new heli with a muffler that lets the 37 shine.

Too bad Curtis stopped making the MP2 for 30's. It makes a night and day difference when compared to the stock muffler. Later on I'll give 30% nitro a try in this heli.
