Just finished my 600 build and I noticed the tail glitch a few times on the 3rd tank of fuel. Then on the 4th tank it also jumped a little then the tail spun wildly out of control at about 50 ft up. I hit throttle hold and landed with no problem. Checked out the heli...could find nothing wrong! Refueled and hovered for about 2 min at about 5ft (which was a mistake) and the tail glitched a few times and then let loose again! The pyro rate was crazy...ending up bending a boom and breaking the gear etc.

The tail was holding good in fast backwards flight, very stable except for the little jump now and then... and that wasn't consistent.

Here is the list of items that might matter.
JR 9303 PCM
649 PCM rx
611 Gyro
Align 2-in-1 volt reg. with align 1900 2S pack

Could this be caused by the 2-in-1 reg?

I was also using the align 5.1v stepdown for the tail...could that be bad?

Helio Addict,

We found 3 out of 4 bad at our field from the first batch of those step down cables. They were just simply passing 5.8 volts straight to the tail. Also a friend had a very similar problem with one of his birds, it turned out to be a bad pot in the servo, he could touch it and it would stop working then touch it agian and off it would go.. It would kick from time to time working perfectly other than that. Then all of a sudden it would just loose it totally. Replaced servo with a spare and all problems went away. He sent the original servo in to Futaba that did replace the pot on the servo, it has since been put back in service and is fine now.
