Looks to be the Intrepid gas offers the best product. From others experience, is there any tips you could give me from your experiences!!

If I was buying another one for 3D flying, I would get a driven tail, mainshaft thrust bearings, double o-ring head dampenning, metal front transmission, 26cc engine, Bergen pipe, 14T pinion.

This is the setup I'm running and it flys SWEET!!!

Best of luck, you'll love this machine.

Sunday Flyer!!

Im not quiet comfortable enough with throwing my 30 around completly yet! Are these upgrades needed for 3d or durability. I plan to use my gasser for lifting camera.

I would still get the thrust bearings (at least one for upright loading), the torque tube tail drive and front transmission (low maintenance), and the 26cc engine (extra lifting power). OH, and the 33" tailboom so you can run up to 720mm blades.

I would absolutely agree with malories suggestions here... the perfect setup if I bought another I would also get the elevator upgrade and the constant tail drive which I don't have quite yet.

I have absolutely no friction in my tail right now and noticed my tail is at a dead stop while I'm still autoing from 40 feet out... kind of a weird feeling. I noticed I"m still giving rudder input and there is my tail, just siting there not even spinning.

I would include Mr. Carbon tail fin blades which are much more ridged than stock bergens.

LOL jjones, you're just using the t/r for and airbrake. I know that feeling.

MS 107mm tail blades work awsome. I have also run NHP 105s but I didn't like the open ends on the blades, they made a lot of noise.

If you are going to be lifting a camera, I would steer clear of the driven tail. If you loose the tail for some reason, you will piro to the ground. Wouldn't be to fun watching all that equipment piro-ing down.

Also if you are just doing lazy flying, the stock t/r blades will do just fine.

Malorie,
Now why is Dad's Bergen running so smooth compared to his son's, I personally think that it is the care and gentle touch that dad has. Like Malorie said the stock blades are great for lazy flying, they work great on my ship. I bumped to a 401/9252 and it works very well, just have to convince son again. Chris, we did adjust the motor and clutch to get rid of the noise that was occuring..I think the motor had settled slightly which caused the clutch some misalignment. Thought you might want to know in regard to our phone conversation..Again thanks to you all for your continued support. What a great sport.
