Sorry I have not got back to you with your questions yet.
I have never had a chance to fly a Avant yet but I do have a trex 600 nitro with the Thunder Tiger Redline .53 motor. In the short time I had to test fly the Avro it felt real stable the collective pitch I had set to +12-12 and the cyclic pitch around 6 all around I did not really check for max but I'm sure I can get more but did not really need it. The pitch was nothing like a 600 it had way better pull out in fact after flying the Avro that was the first thing I noticed when going back to the 600 the .90 just had more power the center cyclic was way fast just like I like it no expo I may need more roll rate but it was still really good tic tocs did not have the initial pop of the 600 but it did pull though them better. Fast big loops tracked nice and so did rolls. After I get more time in the air with it I can make a better flight report hope to get out this week and this weekend with it to dial it in more but it was really killer right off the bench did not even need to trim it and the tracking was on the money.

Got mine flying

Got my Avro together last week and had a chance to fly it over the weekend (3 flights total). I had everything set up per the manual for the 3D setup (leading edge blade grip control). With a set of radix 690's and set of the century 3d paddles the heli was faster on the cyclic than any 90 size heli I have flown up here in Colorado (Check the classifieds - I have had and sold just about all of 90's that have been out). Usually when I fly a 90 for the first time (especially up here) I am trying to figure out ways to speed the cyclic up, on this heli I am going to slow it down a little bit Plus I want to see what it feels like on the other head setting that are possible...

Since the heli will be out in Vegas for the funfly while I am here in CO it will be a week or two before I get some more time on it I can tell that once I get it tweeked for my flying style it is going to be one of the best flying helis I have owned, not to mention the highest quality one.

Canopy is out for paint so once I get that back I will a post pics of it here and in the Avro hall of fame thread

That seems to be a smarly engineered heli. I like what I see.

I'm such a sucker for neat details. That isolated, dampened gyro sensor mount is just the cat's meow.

Hey all
Had a great time in Vegas the weather was good only 1 windy day it was like summer for me. Buzz and I had a lot of fun showing off and flying the Avro. After having a chance to see all the other heli’s like the Aurora the new Trex 700 (some pic below) a fly bar less Synergy that was way cool. I for sure have a new appreciation for the quality, engineering, design, fit and finish of the Avro. It was like comparing a Jaguar to a Toyota. The machining of the hardware is in a class of its own made other heli’s hardware look like something I made in shop class and the servo support system with the 3mm pushrods are so solid my servo centering is locked in. I did about 12 flights on my Avro at the fun fly it was really the first time I had to get to know it better the cyclic is so fast I finally caved in a put 20% expo in it I may need to slow it down a bit but I really liked it fast my tic-toc’s had a lot of pop did nice big loops, split S, rolls and quban 8’s that tracked dead on. The drive train is so smooth I could take the belt and gears out and sale them as new I don’t see any wear on them at all. I’m really glad I got the Avro for guys like me that like nice stuff this is in my opinion the best of the best.

Canopy Pics

Bill at Arizona heli just sent me a pic of the completed canopy which should be here early next week. Nothing too crazy but it should be easy to see and is very clean looking. Can not wait to see how it looks on the machine!!

Yep, looks very slick.
Good looking on the bench posing and great visibility flying.

Not bad for a beater canopy.
Wish I had one looking that nice.

Ha Ha!! Pretty funny Eric!! The color even matches

I got 7 flights on the Avro today and it kicks A$$. Smooth and fast is the best way to describe it... Once I get my canopy from Bill I will get someone to take some vids
