e-Century Hummingbird - Swift > Century ESC 10S 85/110A, CNE485 BEC or not BEC ?

Hi,

I purchased a brand new Century 10S ESC (CNE485) for my logo 10 3D XL.
According to Century website, these new 10S ESC CNE485 is NOT BEC.
It looks like I experienced something different this morning during flight. For 5 soft3D flights, receiver battery needed only 200mA...(which is about consumption for only 1 flight and not for 5 flights).
I've just done a test: plugging 6S lipo on ESC with no battery on receiver and it works !!

Does anyone experienced these new Century ESC and can confirm if it is BEC or NOT BEC ?

Thanx for your help,
Cheers,

Rico

The new Century Electron Brushless ESC's come easy to program with 4 flying modes. Just throttle up before plugging in your battery to enter programming mode, then throttle down upon selecting a mode indicated by the number of beeps (1 beep = mode 1, 2 beeps = mode 2, etc...) Disconnect the battery, wait a few seconds, plug in the battery and start flying. The ESC features governor mode and non-governor mode for helicopters and airplanes. Soft-start when throttle has been in down position for longer than 15 seconds.

So, the on-board BEC is only good up to 6s LiPo and for 10s you have to disable it?

Does the instructions talk about how to do this?

Sounds like they make some hardware changes and have not totally sorted out the instructions.

I would be careful when using all digital servos - 3A may not be enough.
