Futaba 501/9250. Had a problem with the 9250 after a couple of seasons. I'm satisfied by the performance but would someday like to try the 601.

I use 9202's on cyclic, 9204 on pitch, Hitec 525 on throttle.

Gyro is a GY401 with 9253.

This is all on a Z230.

Hi Joe, I fly the 401/9253 on my Graphite Gasser (and all my other stuff) as it is small, lightweight, easy to setup and use, and above all it works super... The fact that it is very reasonably priced is just a bonus...

I'm amazed! You guys with Gassers and GY401 / 9253 combos are able to get the 9253 to hold your tail??? I've tried two differenet sets of electronics and both didn't work.

Someone suggested the stock Gasser tail blades are not long enough to keep up with the torque of the G23 engine. What length and type tail blades are you guys using?

Thanks again for all your responses!!!

Im using the stock tail blades, that came with the Z230... I also have some NHP 95mm carbon blades, and some SAB 95mm, they all work very well... Joe.

gyro combo

I have an X-cell gasser with a 401/9253 in it... works wonderfully... I use to have a slower digital servo and an old csm 180, which actually worked quite well, but I wanted a Head Holding gyro and now it is great, flip a switch between the two modes... Had to turn the gain way down so it would not hunt though... very smooth.

IMO

Gasser?

Gasser man, this may be tied in with your other problem with short flights. If your collective system is not working smoothly it may be placing various loads on your gyro and throwing off the tail? Might be worth a look.

Blade Runner,

Good thinking but my Gasser is smooth as glass in a hover and no binding anywhere. I'm using 105mm SAB carbon tail blades too.

Any other ideas.... anyone?

Gasser Gyro

I am using a CSM540 with JR8417. Holds good enough for full throttle backwards and backwards rolls. I just wish my G23 would run a bit smoother.

Overhead,

My G23 was modifed by Bruce Hanson. Runs smooth as glass and has more power.

Check his site out here.....

I have an X-cell Graphite, 501/9417, stock blades.
Tail control is great.
I was able to get the piro rate so high that it pulled the tail boom out of the mechanics, Owiiieee / thud.
