Think your .90 sized is powerful?
Well, think again, unless you have simular setup as this, its not

VBar + carbsmart makes the difference, its the balance to the nitro motor since it will allow the nitro motor to recover MUCH faster, if its ever bogging to begin with...

Well, you cant have it all can you
New fan installed, actually managed to get a stock MA fan dialed to within 0.5 of a thousand on the first try, never happened before.

Impressive helis

I still want the motor ABOVE the main gear!!!

Why's everyone think its ok to have about the heaviest thing on the heli the furthest away from the head?

MrMel, Can you post your setup file for your VBar? I'm using the MA metal grips with the SE pitch arms. Using the long ball links I've achieved 30mm exactly from the center line. I did have to shim the grips 2mm out to get them perfectly centered. I also picked up a setup of Century metal grips and they are a pefect fit. Only need to add spacers on the pitch arm to get the ball links 30mm from the center line. My fist flight should be this weekend.

Mr. Mel,

You are the man, those are soem spectacular machine brother. I too would like for you to post your set-up files and as much info as you can on the nitro V-bar Stratus. I have so many questions. Please post a video as soon as possible. Keep up the good work!

Scrub,

I like what you did with the SE pitch arms. That is what i will be using as well. What is the distance from the center of the ball on the pitch arm and the center of the rotor head? Did you have any other issues with the grip conversion?

It's 30mm from the center of the ball links to the center of the head. Using the standard SE pitch arms and the long MA Ball Links it worked out to a perfect 30mm. No issues with the grips, at least that I can tell. I haven't flown it yet but hope to this weekend.

Link to my Nitro setup: http://www.dacsa.net/heli/Vbar/Stratus-nitro-vbar.xml

NOTE: Its not 100% perfect, Aileron cyclic speed is slower then elevator, you need to adjust or change ATV in radio.

Im using Raptor 90 blade grips, on the electric I have a pair of QuickUK version of the R90, on the nitro I use plastic.
The plastic is cut down a mm to place the ball-link dead center on the head/shaft.
On the QuickUK I replaced the ball-links with MA stuff to achive the same.
Other then that, I drop the Raptor grips right into the MA head, changing nothing else.

Tape: I was using QuickUK 4mm version, but I felt that tail was a bit sloppy during load and unload of the disc, so I now put the unit on using CSM "very very soft tape"
But its important that you have the new IC version of sensor that is sold since Logo 600 came out, its better suited for nitro operations.

Just looking at your nitro bird impresses me!! thats a lot of electrics to maintin though. How long do you think it will be until some one comes out with a Carb-smart/governor in the one package? or the V bar system that contolls the tail as well? i'm sure this would cut down on the amount of electrics alot of people seem to be running these days....
