I run OMI/Cline, so my midrange is a bit leaner.

You can easily try 110c, and see how it feels/sounds. If you start to get an cackle, take it back to 100. I run my gain up near 75% to react to changes better.

It should sound like a racing 2 stroke dirt bike on idle, as it will be very lean.
What? What kind of information is that?? It is the high needle is being leaned out during idle, not the low needle, and will only affect mid to high carb ranges. My engine is an example the "2 stroke dirt bike" not being true.

Sam2b.
The main needle effects the entire throttle range on an OS 2 or 3 needle carb. If you pull the main needle to full lean it will lean the idle as well

Today I was in a creative mood, and because I received my servo I bought for my carbsmart yesterday thats what I've been installing.

First of all, the ingredients:

Futaba 3150:

Frame spacers:

A crashdamaged carbon tailfin (the vertical one):

And a little bit of balsa for the servo mounting:

Now its time to get out the saw and cut some stuff away from the crashed fin. After that I glued the balsa servo mounts to the carbon tailfin, creating a servo mount.

When its ready I used some longer M3*25 bolts together with the frame spacers to mount the servo to the frame.

And last but not least I connected the servo rod, also from the R90.

I hope this is usefull to someone else mounting his carbsmart! Now I just have to order some new sensors because I already killed my first one...

I installed the carbsmart on my rappy and it was the biggest WAIST of time and money I have ever spent!

It leaned,

It riched

It would richen up in the middle of manovers, then it would overlean. I had 3 sensors which crapped out on me, then I just unplugged the stupid thing. Never again. Its just not accurate enough, -10 degrees out from the start....

Some people say they have had it work great, others not so great.

FEW have seen anything but a benefit from the use of these devices. They're not essential, especially w/Hyper50's, but then neither is a governor eh?

When properly set up they work precisely as advertised. I suspect you had difficulty figuring out how to install it correctly and/or set it up, then gave up the goat instead of completing the task.

Once you get max lean, then max rich set, you then need to bring gain back to about 80%. Usually the issue is leaving the gain way low after setting max rich. This leads to running rich/lean as the gain is not high enough to keep up....

I've found the gain at 20% runs well for me. I tested 50% vs 20% and have better performance at ~20% (less speedy needle adjustments). I love hearing the engine growl while really on the pipe.
