Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > CSM Cyclock and GY240

Dear to all,
I am converting a Fury extreme into flybarless.
Due to cost & technical choices I would like to use one cycloc and 2 GY240.
Why I want to use GY240:
1) The gyro Gain is setable without using any Aux function. This is cool for me because I dont have any Aux available on my receiver.
2) the price, GY240 are cheap and I think they are ok for this function.

Did someone try this solution ?

The only problème I saw is about travel adjustment. On SL720Gyro you can set servo travel using your transmitter. On GY240 you need to set the travel directly on the GY240 with a "button". You have no information like 70% of travel for exemple (like on GY601 using the display).

Do you think this will be a problem? If I am ok, when we are making the setup on the Cyclock we can set for each servo the up/down mecanical limit. I think this could allow me to useGY240.

But, as it will be impossible to have exactly the same travel adjustment on the 2 GY240 gyro: this little difference between the 2 gyro setting will may be have a wrong impact on the servo mixing from the cyclock ? And the consequences will be to have the swash plate not moving exactly staight ?

If you can help me

Best regards
Matthieu (Paris, France)

I don't think you'll get good results from the GY gyros. The gyro response needed for cyclic stablization is very different from that needed for tail rotors. The settings are even different between the elevator and aileron. Without access to the internal settings of the gyros it's not possible to re-tune them for cyclic use.

Hello Tean,

Thanks for this precious answer.

In this case may be any CSM gyro will be ok if we can access to the internal setup.

I know of people who were going to try the CSM560 gyros, but never heard how well they worked. I would suggest you ask someone at CSM before you buy.

Note that if you're on a tight budget, you can manage without the Cycloc if your heli uses mechanical CCPM (I'm not familiar with the Fury).

Hi,

Finally a friend of mine will let me test his Mikado V bar system :-) Great!

I will certainly need your help for the setup. My first question is: do you have some trouble with the language setup on the mikado software?

On my version when I ask for english the software mixe italiano or German into the interface....not easy to understand ;-)

Best regards

Matthieu
