I have started the transition now, I've had 7 flights using the pinch method. I have a sim which I have been using this method aswell.
And, while there is a period of time to adapt to the different technique, I think it will be worth it, and thus far it is aswell.
Hovering is different now, better control, more precious movements etc...
I have done some autorotations with this method, it takes some getting used to, but after the first tank of autos the heart attach feeling coming in at -7 degrees pinching the sticks it calmed a little....
Well, back to the practicing on the sim with the pinch test.
