Minor Problem

For information so guys can plan accordingly, I learned last night that the catering truck and the BBQ that was supposed to be at the flying site has vanished. The CD is working on getting something else set up...but this late date on a holiday weekend when everyone else in the world is having events/BBQ's...well, we'll see?

Like the Marines say, "Adapt and over come". There's a store down the road a few miles. And with such a big all grass flying site, and no waiting lines at a flight station, everyone can fly so much there will be time to make a few food/drink runs to the market.

As with most events, it is always a good idea to bring your own shade. The site is not an established R/C field that has covered pit areas. It is a soccer park, with no established shade along the area that will be the flight line. Although, the temps are going to be in the 70's, so...

I'll answer this because I don't think the CD will check or post anything today or tonight.

I was out at the site this morning setting things up with the CD, and he had no new information about which of the "big name" pilots would or would not be attending.

The CD was informed by Assurance R/C a while back that Alan Jr. would be attending. If Alan Jr.'s plans have changed, I don't think he'd be obligated to go out of his way to tell the CD about it. It would be nice, but let's keep in mind that it's a fun-fly, not a business arrangement or contract between our club and any particular pilot or company concerning their commitment to attend.

If you heard some information recently from a credible source, you probably know more at this point than the CD does.

Hope to see ya there. I was running 1000' roles of yellow barrier tape this morning up and down the flight line, and can verify that we have 1800' of mowed and freshly watered grass ready for helicopters to launch off of
