Hello everybody,

I am wondering if a Futura Nova can be converted to a gasser using one of the conversion kits which were availabe for the Futura SE or Futura Contest.

The reason is that I just wrecked my Spectra and could get a nice Futura Nova for a good price.

Any information would be appreciated.

Yes you can convert Nova to a gasser with just S2880 kit. But you really want to use lower gear ratio other than S2880 kit offers (8.65)

So you have to use e.g. 26T or 27T clutch bell to get the gear ratio right for your purpose. You only have to make 4 new holes on the rear frames to make the bigger clutch bell fit nicely. It's 5 minutes work to do.

Hey Guys,

I finally ordered a Nova Cuatro incl. Gasser Conversion Kit. This will be my setup:

- Robbe Nova Cuatro (standard Alu frames)
- S2880 Gasser Conversion Kit
- S4657 27T clutch bell
- Zimmermann tuned pipe setup

- TRM231 engine (one of the few things wich survived the Spectra crash..)

- 3x JR8311 for Swashplate
- 1x Futaba 9001 for Throttle
- CSM SL720 Gyro
- Futaba BLS251 for Rudder

I will use the Futaba TM-7 for my FF9 and the R617FS Receiver.

I ordered some upgrade parts like carbon fins, carbon landing gear, cnc tail grips, alu fan and carbon tail support.

Please let me know what you think about this setup. I dont have the servos yet so in case i'm choosing something bad I still can change.

Does anyone knows if there is a generator kit sold somewhere for the Nova Cuatro Gasser?

I think you will like the cuatro,it is a really nice gasser.
I am still running mine with the stock gearing (8.65) and been
happy with it.

It would be nice to have a generator for cuatro, but nobody makes them for it. But you probably can modify one of rajas or realheli generators to fit cuatro.

what are your rotor blades and headspeed? Did you have any trouble with the heli yet so maybe i have to pay special attention to something when building it?

hello

Right now i have rotorsport pro 800mm blades and my headspeed
is 1400rpm for aerobatics. That may sound a bit low but is enough
for my flying...loops,rolls and just basic stuff.

No trouble with heli so far,just build it carefully and you have a rock solid gasser.
