The Vison Helicopters by Ikarus the 450 and 450 pro Vison's That do look like a helicopter I seen before lol The vison glow 90 and the new Bell 222 scale for the Eco 8 and Royal 8. Ikarus got the rights to make to Vison helicopters helicopters and the 90 go's into prod. in 6 to 8 weeks Take care. Later!

New stuff by Ikarus

Yes it looks like they will be. You can see more on Ikarus Germany I used to be a Tech and Rep. for Ikarus USA from 04 to 08 I also flew Scale contest with my Eco 8 BO-105 Air Med and my OH-58D you can see them in my gallery, but now Hobby Lobby is the maine seller For Ikarus. Now all Ikarus stuff will be sold by them in the USA hopefuly I can move on with them, I will know very soon. If not I just have to move on to the next heli. maker. Take care. Later!

I keep hearing that Hobby Lobby is the seller for Ikarus but they don't sell any Ikarus parts. Whats up with that. I used to buy from them. I bought my first heli from them around 1992?, an ECO 8. They no longer show any parts or kits.

I'm not in the loop with Hobby Lobby, but what I do know from Ikarus is everything that Ikarus USA had @ there store is all being shipped to Hobby Lobby, from there all that stuff have to be put in there PC with stock numbers and cost, so this my take some time to get things moving. I looked very hard and fond the Eco 8 kit on Hobby Lobby. So for now till I find out if they are going to keep me on to help with the Ikarus Helicopters I'm just the next joe blow in line like you, but I still can get a little more info out of them because my other job with Ikarus was getting Hobby shops to carry Ikarus helicopters, planes and sim's. and they need to know how soon can they make there orders, so when I find out more this coming week I can post you whats going on with them, but it will just take a little time to get thing's put in Hobby Lobby sys. My pics of my 2nd Ikarus BO-105 fus. that Ikarus no longer make.I talked to Hobby Lobby, and they told me that they havn't gotten everything from Ikarus USA yet, and as soon as they do they will be putting everything into there sys. and restocking eveything they don't have in stock, and that they will have all the other stuff Ikarus for sell's. He also told me that they will be able to get the Vision 90 glow, and everything that Ikarus makes or carry. Take care. Later

Yes they are very nice way better looking then the JetRanger as in true scale you might still can find them at FX and Hobby Lobby they both sold them back in the day but don't hold me to it that they will still have any. The one glue drop at a time is a pain in the a$$, but looks good when done

Ikarus Eco 8 Royal Parts Nightmares

So, it took my ancestors less time to get from Germany in the 1930's than getting parts from Ikarus.

Seems that Ikarus not only stopped shiping parts out of Florida, but also kind "lost" the shipment heading to Hobby-Lobby, which is taking over the line. Problem is, there are fewer parts and not a bell-hiller mixing arm (6083038) to be found anywhere, even www.fxaeromodels.com , which has been great, shipping me parts when Ikarus can't even seem to find thier missing wharehouse full.

Anyone know where I could find parts for the Eco 8 Royal??

And if you are thinking of an Eco 8.....do yourself a favour...don't.

By the time you get it rugged enough with over-priced upgrades (if you can find them) you could have gotten a Trex 600, which is what I plan to replace the Eco with. Oh well, I'm learning, should have done a little more research but did find some good reviews of the Eco.

Who knows whats going on. I don't! I was with Ikarus USA as a Rep., Tech. and did some R & D for them for 5 years and even flew scale contest with my BO-105 & OH-58D Eco 8 when things got handed over to Hobby Lobby there were like send us your Res. and we will go from there, well when I called them I was told that they didn't need me as a pilot they had many and they didn't need me as an Tech for help. I can tell you now that, I know no one will no jack about the Ikarus heli's as much as I do there. This is too funny. I called about Viper 70 kits the guy told me that they just got them in that day and he told me he have never seen or knew what they looked like. I said ok, then I asked about the Dragonus II N-PLUS he then tells me that heli. is better then the Viper hands down and said I should get that one it's better then the Ikarus heli's. then I had to update him that Ikarus makes that heli now it's called the vision 450 and 450 pro. he didn't know what to say then. lol So who knows how thing's will be with them. I wish them the best of luck, but I will be getting the vision 450 Pro / Dragonus II N-PLUS and many other Ikarus stuff Just because I have made good friends at the hobby shops over the years that I setup to sell Ikarus stuff and they told me that they will give me my Ikarus stuff at there price because I was good to them and helped them out when they need it. So I will just move on to new things as Rep. with other makers. If I can help others with there Ikarus stuff I still will. Helping people is what this hobby is all about when it comes down to it at the end of the day. Just my 2 cents.. Later!

Update on Hobby Lobby with Ikarus stuff. I was told by Hobby Lobby that they will not have everything on hand that Ikarus makes, but could get it from Germany in 6 to 8 weeks so looks to me when everything they have in stock runs out it will be a hit and miss on what they will carry in stock, like what they do with Graupner. They can get anything Graupner makes, but they only keep in stock what they want. I don't think hobby shops will put up with this at all. I think it will be the death of Ikarus in the USA, do to Hobby Lobby will pick what they think will sell and want sell in the USA. That will suck if your flying something that Hobby Lobby don't keep in stock and it's a $ 5.00 part and you have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for it, looks like you need to stock up now just in case it's not on the keeper list. Just my two cents. Later!

True it is very expensive to buy and upgrade a ECO8 to be a good helicopter.
But then I wouldn't be able to say that I have the only four bladed Ikarus ECO8 helicopter in the world..

I had the 4 bladed head back in 2004 with my OH-58D Eco 8 with the Ikarus JetRanger body. AND BO-105 Air Med 5 Eco 8 with the Ikarus BO-105 body, way before they had all the cool stuff to make them fly easy and better.. Pic's are in my gallery of them. I would like to get the new stuff they have for them now with my new BO-105 I'm making. Later!
