hi

Forgot to add.

Mine was STOCK and wasnt the PRO version.. I tweaked the 4in1 so that the tail held very well during flips and rolls and it held pretty well.. Took 3 battery cycles and MICROSCOPIC tuning on the unit until it was perfect..

Of course, at the end of a battery pack, I would have to use subtrim for the rudder because after the battery weakened, the tail drifted a little.. that was NORMAL..

Nice bird!!!!

Crash-Prone and overcoming it!!!

Trex is the best heli ever a blade heli is a P.O.S. A trex will fly itself and doesnt break in a crash.

Hey Doug
What main motor are you running on your blade? I have a Feigao BL main, brushed gws tail, separate escs, HH gyro, the only metal is the swash. I suspect that my tail issues are connected to the G-90 gyro. I would not be surprised if the G-90 is one of the worst performing small HH gyros available. I've never really liked it. I'm going to fly my blade with the Zoom gyro soon and see how the tail holds on it. Yea, it's not worth the effort to defend the BCPP. You're going to get beat on by some guys no matter what good things you say about them. They're not for everyone.

funny bob

I bought the G90 when I bought my pro. I've never had that thing perform reliably. I thought it was just me. It holds okay doing 8's, etc., then in a split second it just snaps 90 degrees on me. Not that I can't handle that, but when you're nose in a foot off the ground, well trouble seems to happen. Maybe I shouldn't give up on it yet. I'm thinking of just shelving it for now until after I get my Beam and get some time on it, then get the Pro flying and when I DO stuff it, it won't p**s me off so bad. Last time I had it out, I dumped it, picked it up and did my best Nolan Ryan impression into the side of my garage. Sumbitch still survived!!

Yea fla heli boy
I think it's the worst product that eflite has introduced, not to mention the worst value for a bad gyro on top of it. I've heard the temperature sensitive argument which, if true, makes it even worse if that's possible. And then sometimes it works as well as any gyro. You never know what you have to deal with at that moment, like alot of women I've known.

I hear ya Bob

I was almost thinking about going back to the 3-1 and ditching the HH and see if that's any better. And ditto on the woman thing.
The older you get, the harder it is to find a good one - so yea - I see the similarity....

If you have a stock main motor, then the 3in1 when adjusted properly works really well. I flew my friend's stocker last weekend and was really impressed. I'm recommending an inexpensive HH gyro like the telebee for him.

I must be really lucky with the 2 G90s I have. I simply stuffed them onto the frames (one in the nose, other on the tail) and have no problems with them. No real insulation from vibration, other wires, etc.

Definitely not GY401s, but I can honestly say I have never had either one enter an unwanted tail command on their own. They do drift a little, but I really don't notice it.

I'll post pictures later today of the install of each of them...

Just stick with it, learn on the Blade CP, it is easy to fix. and when you can fly that one well, going to any other chopper will be super easy.

I love my Dragonfly FP, it is by far the helicopter I use the most and I have a couple of different choppers, but the size is too cool for around the yard, and the skill level it takes to fly these smaller choppers make all other seem basic.

stick with it...

You know tutelar the G-90 that I have doesn't really decide which way the tail is going, I think it just doesn't react as quick as it should. The problem with my G-90 occurs when I hit the positive collective quickly. Sometimes it is slow enough to allow from 1/4 to 1/3 piro to the left. Sometimes it is on time and the tail holds firmly. Usually I have to re-boot the system several times (at least) on each battery until the heli hovers without a yaw to the left and no radio trim. I don't think I'm the only one with the problem. I actually think that you are the lucky one. If there is someone that deserves the best of luck from the Heli Gods, it's you. You're always generous and knowledgeable.

BOB WHO? Thanks!

Here are the pics of my G90s.

Model 1 - recommended placement, supplied thick 2-sided tape:

Model 2 - mounted in the nose beside the receiver, industrial "velcro":

Note the ESC sitting in front of it, the mass of wires around it, and no real damping to the frame...

BTW: looking at these photos, I realize that I have not had to replace a main frame since I started using the paper-clip mod!

Do you notice a difference in the way the two blades handle? They must balance in different place.

I just rebuilt my CP2 today and I used the GWS motor that was in there before which I wasn't sure it was gonner or not. I spun it up and went for a test hover, when I rudder heli will spin the way I rudder uncontrollable.

Replaced the motor problem fix.

What main motor are you using on your Blade
Bob, I am using the HDX 300 3800 kv outrunner with an 11 tooth pinion. I really like the motor and it doesn't even get luke warm after a flight.

Bob, It sounds like your G90 gyro may have some internal damage if it has to be rebooted. I had a Telebee last year that would occassionally lose all holding power for 5 or 10 seconds in the air. It started doing this after a bad crash so I suspect there was some internal damage that would allow it to work most of the time but when you least expect it, she's out of control
The only metal or CNC I have on mine is a MicroHeli swashplate I got on Flebay for 15. bucks and it is Fantastic (Very High Quality) everything else is Plastic and carbon.

BOB WHO?: Actually both helis balance correctly under the main shaft (flybar).

The one with the G90 in the back has a TP1320 upfront. The one with the G90 under the canopy has a TP910 upfront.

On both models, the batteries sit entirely in front of the front landing gear struts (I think you can see that in the pictures).
