e-BEAM Beam E4 > New type of main grip?

Just seen this new blade grip for the Beam E4... Anybody has information about WHY it is different in shape?

Is it a version that will include thrust bearing? Appart from the obvious ball link missing and the blad bolt hole not "machined" exactly the same... I can't see why it's different?

Simply new look or easier for the machinist?

Any info appreciated.

The narrower one on the right is the thrust bearing version. It features 2 radial bearings and a thrust bearing.

Where should the thrust bearin should be? between the two radial?

By looking at my grips, it seems that the bearing are press fit and those new grip seems to have the same dimension (except the wider "neck"

The thrust bearing is outbound on the Beam grips - right next to the grip retaining nut, not between the radial bearings.

Thanks!

Just checked that blade grip and It don't have thrust bearing in there...

Any body know the part number for the thrust bearing? Or at least ID/OD /thickness dimension?

thanks

Just got mine from advantage and it had thrust bearings and the manual showed both assemblies (thrust/non-thrust). The inner half of the bearing was already in the grips on mine.

Could somebody take inner/outer/thickness mesurement of the bearing... I might have found some at a local hobby shop and would like to know if they could do the job...

thanks!

I should hope a great heli like the beam should have nothing but thrust bearing grips, TREX v2 did so 2 years ago. Especially since guys are running 300o plus headspeed, the centripetal force must be enormous at that speed
