The issue with the seesaw isn't the ball coming loose. It's the main bolts that hold the seesaw into the headblock coming loose, or just htat the quality of the part is poor, and the threads are failing.

It's pretty safe to say that the people buying and flying this heli aren't the new guys, we've all got quite a bit of experience. And we're having problems with the part. The people who are posting here saying that it needs to be addressed by the manufacturer are the end users. The guys who are saying it's fine and doesn't need to be addressed are the field reps. Kinda like the last basketball game I went to see my neighbor's kid play in, I never once heard the Ankeny cheerleaders cheer for the other team.

Sorry for the silly question, what part of the seesaw is giving the trouble?? Is it the ball strut tower things or is it the two bolts holding the seesaw to the head block??

Ive had no problems with mine at all, apart from crashing it. If its the strut tower balls, ive moved mine all over the place and back again without issue.

Someone please tell me which thread to watch so i can see if i have a problem developing. BTW my #1 x-treme had at least 100 flights on it, and my #2 has about 15 on it, all faultless. Im from Australia BTW.

You probably posted while I was writing my last post. It's the bolts in the center that the instructions specifically warn about. One guy posted something about the balls, but AFAIK, there's no issue there.

Like everyone else, I love my X50. It's a great flying heli, I'vebeen going out and flying in 20-30deg temps with 20mph winds because I like it so much. It doesn't have much in the way of weaknesses, but the lack of threads going into the seesaw (and the threads failing) is a real one, and I'm not the only one having the problem with it.

Eury are you having problems even after useing red threadlock? On the other helis you have built did you use red or blue in this area? Im asking because this was the first heli I bought that I had to assemble and was wondering how other seesaws are assembled.

I've had it come loose one time with the red, but to be fair I purposely didn't torque the bolts down much, and was sparing on the red. Since putting a bit more torque on it and a generous bit of red, it stayed put for the 2 flights since.

First assembly I used blue and torqued it like I would any other heli's seesaw assembly. That seesaw had a failure of the threads.

Generally, I don't use red on any part of a heli. The exceptions being screw on fans will generally get it, and I always use it on the setscrew for the tail pulley pin on Raptor 30s and 50s based on past experience. For the most part, if you need red, either the part wasn't designed quite right, it's an area like the fan where the starter can unscrew it easily if it gets hydrolocked, or there's a vibration problem that you're masking by using the red. Blue is the appropriate item for the vast majority of our needs.

Any issues

Guys,
RjX has always stood behind our products and will continue to. The manufacture always visits this forum and other forums to see what his customers are talking about.
I assure you, he is already checking into this.

Eury, I stand corrected. I misunderstood the area that you were talking about. But I still have had no issues with those screws either.

Looks like it will take a new seesaw and headblock design to fix this properly.

I might add a 3x6 shcs is quite short. How much thread is actually going into the seesaw?

I dont own a X50 yet, and will not spend the $700 until this issue is resolved and the tail up grade is included.

The "worlds best 3D machine" shouldnt need a tail upgrade!

I've been following these threads as I'm considering changing brands in the near future.

This AGAIN proves that ANY machine can have problems, be it MA, Align, TT, JR, whatever! These toys are designed, machined and manufactured by HUMANS. As such, there is only striving for perfection. Achieving it is nigh on impossible and is it even desirable? What is perfect for one pilot is not for another.

Personally, my 2 600N's have performed flawlessly and I made my upgrades by choice, not necessity. Even my 2 original swashes (old design) have no play and no binding. Did I get lucky? Maybe. BUT, for the $$ (and otherwise), Align have some pretty exciting birds.

I am NO brand loyalist. I buy what I can afford and like to fly. If a bird does not fly well, I will sell it, for a loss if required. I have enough discretionary income to allow this. Am I rich - NO. Can I afford to fly what I want - yes, within reason. Modern 50's are AMAZING. So much so that my 90's don't see enough air time to justify their existence in my fleet.

I am sure that the Xtreme is incredible. It should be for the $$. It's good to see that this heli has flaws - just like all the rest! Can't wait to see it in the flesh in Wellington this weekend.

Happy flying all...

There have only been 3 reported problems with the seesaw. I am not sure exactly how many Xtreme 50 kits are out there, but that is a very small number. The stock tail works great. The Raptors have used a similar design for over 10 years. The X50 does not "need" an upgrade as you put it.

Every new heli has had growing pains when released. Need I remind you of the numerous issues with the 600N? The Knight 3D had some as well. The Raptor 50 continues to ship with the crappy tail hub. I have yet to see any company release a "perfect" heli from day one.

It doesn't need the thrusted tail, it's available as an option, here's something I found to be very interesting, this is the tail assembly from one of the very hi end heli's on the market today, the JR Vibe 90, and guess what it uses for a tail grip set, the very same one that comes "stock" on the RJX Hurrican 50 and Xtreme 50, two piece plastic grip with a pair of 4x10x4 radial bearings. RJX just took it a step further and made a CnC metal tail grip with thrust bearing to offer us.

Hoi,
Count me in for the "problem" with the seesaw.
Every 2-3 flights it was coming loose.
After trying diferent locktite, I simply put on the bearing locker from locktite, let it dry for a knight and no more loosening. This was the only thing that helped solving the loosening problem for me.
Had this long before this was mentioned on the forum.
Beside the blue maingear stripping and the linkage rod 70 mm that was keeping deforming during flight, no issue so far after maybee 60-70 flights.
The blue maingear was replaced for free by the local rc-store with the with helical gear.
The rod: I slip on a carbon tube and filled it with CA. No more deforming.
Love how the heli fly's.
Anyway this should be enough to let the designers study the loosening of the seesaw.
Also the alu seems to be softer than my other heli's and it feels lighter.
The heli however need to be assembled with care and will give many happy flights in return.

My seesaw arm bolts have not worked loose but i only have about 4 flights.( 2 of which are hovering and the other 2 just FF).. I did put red loctite on mine as well..This same thing happened to my raptor 90se... I put red loctite in that after using blue and they are still rock solid after about 34 cases of fuel...
but my concern is the length of the seesaw arm bolt.. it just doesn;t seem like alot of thread is getting into the seesaw arm...
Like i said , hopefully my holds

You have more then red, green and blue loctite, take a look there:

www.reinshagen.de/download/Loctite_Klebetechnik.pdf

I used this bearing glue

648
"Universelles Fügeprodukt mit gutem Spaltfüllvermögen, schneller Handfestigkeit und
ausgezeichneter Temperaturbeständigkeit."

"Universal glue product with good gap filling ability, fast hand firmness and excellent temperatur resistance." (babylon)

Maybee I was lucky, but it doesn't come loose.

Just like to add
I am using 648 for years on my tail boom in my Qj8
The tailcase slides on the tail boom and 1 drop of 648 and its solid
No screws no nuts it only slides on ..but never ever comes loose
After a Crash I have to hold the tailboom (bend then obviously or broke) over the gas oven flame for about 1 minutes before i can attempt to remove the tail boom

648 really is bullet proof
