Okay guys I can not for the life of me decide on cyclic servos for my 600e, the frames are close together so my options are slim. Here is what I am looking at
-S9551: low profile+++ but how do they perform
-DS8717's: Too tall?
-DS8317's
-S9252's
-S9452's
-S9351's: too tall???

HELP!!!!!

I know you didnt list them but Hitec 6965hb is an AWESOME servo for the trex. Not nearly as power hungry as the 8717, but just as fast. Ok .01 of a second slower.

Ahhh, the dreaded horn non issue strikes again. They work fine with the Align wheels. They seem a little loose when you put them on but they tighten up nicely when you screw it down. or you can use the hitec wheels and drill your own holes.

But anyway, the 9452 is a nice servo.
As is the bls451.

BLS451 seams to be the new trend – they do have much better performance than any of the others but they are a little more expensive.

S9551 sure look good on paper

I have the HITEC 6965's on my TREX and they work fine. WARNING! If you do use these don't put your gyro up front. I tried to move my 401 to a front mount, I did buy the mount I did not mount them on the servos, and the chatter from the 6965's was pretty amazing.

I like the numbers on the S9551 as well. How else can you loose 1.5oz and save money. They are only 1.6oz. If you use BLS451's or 8717 you are over 2.1 to 2.3 oz. That is .5 oz per servo or 1.5oz total. That is about all you can gain by buying carbon gear!

I would sure like to hear from someone who has tried them, they sure look like a good fit.

Hello all:

What is the deal with the horn issue and the uber-stealth 8717's. My good buddy has 8717's in his 600E and he seems to be very pleased with the performance of the servos. As for the horns, I believe that he uses the stock 4-point horns that are included with the servos. Personally, I'm using Airtronic 94357's on the cyclic of my 600E and I am happy. Although they don't have the supreme numbers of the ultra capable 8717's, my servos still put out 125oz./.07 sec on 6V. That's more than enough juice for the 600! Good luck with your decision.

Thanks
Loren

I narrowed my choice to:

BLS451
S9452
HS5965MG

I selected the BLS451 only because I found a good deal for four NIB servos. Otherwise, I was going to use the S9452. I have a Logictech 6100T/6100G for the tail.

Brushless servos are always a good choice because they last longer (5 times longer according to Futaba), they take less power, and have much better dynamic performance. You will definitely feel the difference – good choice!

After flying a set all summer I would never buy a non-brushless servo. I am surprised that other manufactures have not started selling them.
