there is a guy with a mini joker that is ready to fly but I think with nicads or nimh. It is in excellent condition but I am in fear that it is just out dated. I know this is a hard question to answer without seeing the heli but what do you guys think something like this is worth. I would be using it for AP in place of my trex 600 if I acquire it of course converting over to lipos. Or am I just better off using the trex and saving for a newer one?

Are you sure your not talking about a Joker instead of a mini joker?

I was in the same situation....however....I went with the "Not obvious" choice, becuase of my addiction to quality components (not bashing Align), I just reall like Minicopters quality....plus having Gerd frequent the board is a big plus

If it is a MAXI joker v1 at a good price in good condition it would be a nice AP bird. I have 2 v1's and they fly great and are reliable.
A few words of wisdom, dont bother with the nicad packs, you get 4-5 minutes on them, I could barely give mine away, go lipo I would also be concerned with what type of ESC it has. If it has the actro 70-32 very common in these you will probally want to replace that as Joe at Joker USA said there have been reports of them failing, popping capicator. (never had a problem with mine) Price wise I bought my V1 for $1500 rtf less tx and lipos with an actro and 24-5. I upgraded the motor and ESC. I will be selling one of my maxi's very soon RTF with TX, Kontronic esc, and 32-4 motor for about the same. Flies great using it tomorrow in Maui. Hope this helps

Worst case--a couple of hundred dollars. Best case--a couple of thousand dollars. It depends so much on the condition. You may end up with something that you can only cannibalize for parts.

If you really are looking for a MiniJoker, I have one in a box that has never been touched. I bought it from Joe Howard when they first came out, and I will sell it for about 1/2 what I paid for it. I thought I would buy it for fun flying, but I just don't have the time.
