I think a deeper canopy might help that a lot. The tail boom appears to angle upward- does not seem like a great idea for avoiding blade strikes, but otherwise might help the heli handle better in the roll axis.

Never, ever, ever, ever give up.

canopy in the second pic. looks a bit deeper. The boom dose look as though it angle's up but looking close it might be the angle of the heli when the pic. was taken.

i have been flying one for a couple of weeks now and its looking very very good. typical knight handling tracks straight and true and mixes it up low and dirty too its by far the lightest 90 size i know of incredibly compact frame set. metal frame stifferners in all the right place to ensure its stiff.

pics and vids to follow.

I drilled a 4mm hole in the top cover of the clutch. then mounted the gov to the frame. if you take the top frame brace out access is very easy.

I will be mounting the GOV in the bottom side of the clutch bell.
Should be done this week.
At 8lbs. 14oz. it is by far the lightest 90 I have ever seen.
After gov it will be a 9lbs flat with the following setup.
Dx 7 receiver
3 8717's
1 9251 tail servo
sparten gyro
HS 81 on the throttle
Spectrum regulator for gyro and throttle
2000 mah ION for cooling system.
1800 Mah Lipo for receiver.
710mm Rotortechs, ( at the time of weight)
105 sab tail blades.

Dx7 With Ion Power Supply. Why use anything else.

I set it up that way. Just till I see how it is going to work out.
I am not sure how many flights between charge as there was some servo issues in the beggining. It was flown on sunday but I wasnt there to see the results. But the Cooling system is very effective.
Will get more info this week.

I have seen Ade make several flights on the Odin now,one of which i attempted to video,.The model seems very powerful and light in the air but it still has that 90 precision, its a compact looking model, and appears very well thought out.

It was flown here for over 30 or more flights with great reports.
There were some really good pilots flying it pretty hard from what I heard as I was not able to make it to the feild those few days due to other things. But they all gave it a good review. It is on its way to another pilot now for more testing, but I personally think it is going to be another great product from Compass models. I really think the have a great idea with power to weight ratio with this desighn.

Nice

The addition of yet another forward thinking design just caps out the line. the 50 helis are as far a step ahead of everything on the market and this looks to take the 90 class and make it's mark as well.
Very nice !

Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

When you realize that this heli is low, and sleek enough to wear a 50 size canopy, take a look at the power to weight ratio, and how high the CG is in relation to the rotor, there is a lot of beauty in the mechanics of this machine.

Seems pretty short sighted to dismiss this bird as "butt ugly" due to the shape of the LG, or a canopy that isn't even a production item yet.

I think the flight characteristics of this heli will be beautiful, from the vids, it looks like it's very quick on the cyclics for a 90 class. Just my highly biased two cents worth!
