In My honest opinion, anything new, there will be a fault here and there, even in this case such as mufflers.I'm sure that RJX will get the bugs out and that muffler will be the ticket to the show.I must admit though,I will continue with the MP5 50 for now and eventually switch to the RJX.Running the MP5 50,You really need to keep the governed head speed at 2100/2150 to stop the power from lagging, mainly in tic toc's. jyroje, don't give up on that muffler yet bud.

with our MutliGov's we are running 2200 on the X50 and T-Rex 600N with metal grips, no poroblem here, it puts the Hyper around 18,900-19,000 and beleive me they love to run up there.

For those of you that currently have an MP5 on your hyper, do yourself a favor and TRY the RJX pipe without making any adjustments to the carb, be prepare for a little extra horsepower these pipes do perform.

I've got a pair of MP5's if someone wants to trade out for an RJX pipe, just let me know.

buzzsaw you said it right, "anything new, there will be a fault here and there," It doesn't matter what you buy. Sorry to here about your muffler jyroje. I haven't heard of any issues up to now with the pipe. I would try another

Sorry to hear about this muffler falling short of it's intended job duties But, not a problem, we will take care of it. As with any new product a bump in the road is possiable.

I really like the performance of this muffler, so I will send it back and try again. I'm running the mp5 for now but it never runs consistent from day to day. some days the thing works smooth and others I get a little vibration that I cant seem to tune out. the rjx runs really consistent with no vibration every time I use it.

Foxden and Rusty,

Good morning.

Is the RJX muffler a higher backpressure muffler than the Align muffler? From what I understand (from the web and from experience), the CY MP5 muffler is a higher backpressure muffler, which pressurizes the tank more. I understand word on the street is that the new TT53 likes this extra pressure over the Align pipe.

So, just curious about an RJX muffler for the new Redhead on the block!

I got a helicopter for my girlfriend,
It was a good trade!

While I haven't had the opportunity to fly my RJX muffler, I can tell you it is identical to the Hatori SAB-50/522. The only real difference that I can see is that the Hatori has 2 ribs that you can see (from the baffles) and the RJX doesn't have them (but you can still see that the baffles are in the same spot). I know the OS 50 and the YS 50 both loved the Hatori SAB-50 and I cannot see why the RJX will perform any less.

Red Line 53

We just got the Red line 53 today, I'm building up anther Xtreme that this engine will go in, so in time I will be able to give some insight on the RjX muffler and the Red line in the Xtreme 50.

I flew the TT53 with the RJX pipe today for the first time. I started with the MP2 and it would cause the engine to lean out about half tank. Friend loaned me a Align pipe and I got the TT53 to work.
I received my RJX pipe today and put 4 flights on it. I was able to close my mid range about 1/8" and I did not get that lean out at mid tank so I had a bit more power at mid throttle. Looks like it is a good combo.

Yes, the RJX muffler is a high backpressure muffler.
I'm down to 1 turn on the main needle on my hyper and it's still running sweet. Then again, different climate for me at the equator
