e-Hirobo SRB Quark - Lepton - XRB Coaxial > Help! How to remove bearings on mixing arms?

Mine have developed some play in them, so I want to replace them.

I've tried everything in the book to get them out, and I have no idea whether it's the Loctite Hirobo uses or if the tolerances are so tight, or if I'm doing something wrong... they refuse to budge even a tiny bit...

Tried heating up the whole arm - nothing
Heated up the bearing with a soldering iron stuck in the hole - nothing
Attempted to slide an Xacto underneath the flange - nothing

I hope Hirobo doesn't expect us to replace the entire arm when just the bearing wears out...

Thanks in advance!

They definately are snug, you want to heat the mixing arm metal not the bearing. Put the complete unit in the freezer for 15+ mins then take a small torch and gently heat only the mixing arm and give the bearing a tap from the back and it should fall out.

Both bearings have flanges... and there's not enough space in between them to insert any sort of tool.

I tried using a torch to heat up just the bit that's around the bearing... the only thing that did was discolor the anodizing

I don't want to spend $100 on new control arms when $20 of bearings will make them work like new.

Use a heat gun, not torch...... Have it suspended on a wire maybe, while doing it..... For a perion of 5-8 minute...... that should be enough to soften the adhesive....... When removing the bearing, hold the whole assembly with a rag...... It will be realy hot, but you have to do it while it's hot..... immediately push in the replacement bearing while it's hot......

LOL, I didn't mean use a blow torch I always use a small lighter type torch because you can focus the heat to a specific area, otherwise you will heat up and expand the bearing also.

You should be able to use a small punch etc to hit the bearing from the opposite side. Even if you hit on the inner race the bearing is hooped anyways.
