| The Ion is an electric version of the Fury. I had the MPXL-E for over a year now. I flew both machines and here is my assessment:
3D, about the same, they both fast rolling, tumbling, tic toc, piro flip
Hovering & stability, the Ion is more sensitive/touchy the pilot have to really control the sticks. The XL-E is very stable in hovering, the machine when setup correctly can hand free hovering. The same goes for forward flight, the XL-E tracks straight in big loop and 3 second roll effortlessly. One will have to really work the sticks for the Ion to do the same
Design, the XL-E has half the number of part count of the Ion, very optimal design, all metal and CF kit
Part Costs, all crash parts cost above the same. One need to look at crash cost from this: more parts mean more stuff to break, more time to rebuild, more tidious to reset and tune, more maintenance and tests to do
They are both excellent machines to fly. |
