Gasser Model RC Helicopters > Tuned Pipe on Gassers any feedback?

Gorn i think you need to use the spacer of the original can muffler to make your header a little bit flushed out so that it will not affect the look of you canopy.

The way my header comes out, a lot higher, its not really possible to get the same lines as Shiro's. I would love to though, as his canopy lines look sweet

Shiro
If I do that then Im back to a loose header pipe every flight

If you bling it, they will come :D

This is a little off the subject but I was wondering where you get a maxum helicopter? Or do they have a website. Not that I am going to buy one because I already have a Spectra G but just wanted to get a closer look at one. They look really nice but they also look bigger and heavier than a Spectra?

Bigger and heavier yes. 6.5kg RTF.

I never had problem installing the spacers. actually I put 2 spacers with no problem. I used red loctite to secure the screw. it never comes loose. i just put gasket and copper high temp gasket maker in between every spacers.

I think Maxum is same size as the Spectra, only a little bit heavier but can perform some tictocs in the hands of the experts

How is your exhaust working now? Have you fixed the header yet?
I had 3 flights on Friday. 1st flight the motor almost completely died at the top of a hard climb, lucky it fired up again as I didnt want that to be my first auto with my Maxum lol.
I sorted the needles out after that, and now have a nice tan coloured plug.
Im just going to mess around with the low needle now, to try and get the transition between low and high needle nicer.
What Im chasing now is faster cyclic.
I was running the little Radix Stubz paddles, but my friend Phil recommended trying the stock paddles as they are larger.
I have never used them, so later today will be interesting
If all goes well I will be ordering some "Super Stubz".
I think a few more flights of fine tuning, then the GV1 will go on, and then I will look at some more mods to heli other than the motor
My new canopy is being painted this week, Realheli say it should ship next monday. Cant wait....it will certainly be a talking point when it arrives lol.....

If you bling it, they will come :D

I am also waiting on a shipment from Realheli. Ordered some spare parts in case of a small crash (you never know). Was also thinking on ordering the generator, but decided not to do it. Due to the easter holidays they will start shipping at tuesday however.

I like the Dollar - Euro conversion rating . Only drawback is that customs in most cases add 20% taxes on the sales and shipping price and also an additional 16 euro handling costs. This gives an unpleasant feeling just ordering a few parts.

I am also looking how to cut the canopy to have a nice line. I think I try the way Shiro did it. It looks much faster....

fast cyclic

Gorn,

Try some 95mm v paddles. Its perfect for the gasser and if you run 7 on the cyclic it gets crazy fast.

Here's a stupid question to start the day
How is cyclic throw measured?
I have about +11 -11 pitch, and the swash is maxed out on ail and ele, with the 3d mixing settings on the head. But I havent seen how to measure the cyclic
Never seemed particularly important unless I needed it for a comparison in a post.
I like the design of the Super Stubz personally, but I will keep the V paddles in mind, thanks for the suggestion guys

You measure it, basically, the same way as you measure +/- pitch. You set pitch to 0° on the blades and throw your aileron to max both ways. You check the angle of your blades to your flybar. Same with Elevator. Normally you don't want to have more than 6° throw in any direction. If you have +/-11° pitch, you could possibly end up with a total of 17° which could bind the swash or even stall the blades....

right now I am still waiting for my new header. I ordered it from Ronlund. I am using V-blades 95mm and it is really fast because it is very light.if your engine died up during the top end maybe your high end needle is too lean, try to richen it up a little bit.

Hi Shiro
I have already reset my needles, all is well now.
Good to hear you have a new header on the way.
I tried the stock K&S paddles today, very windy.
In FFF it was quite pitchy, which I really did not like. Plus one of the paddles rotated slightly.
It was more responsive though.
These paddles are coming off
I really like the design of the Stubz line of paddles, so Im leaning toward a set of Super Stubz, which are designed for 90 size heli's.
However, I will not rule the V paddles out just yet.

Thank you for the tip

I don't like that K&S paddle also. . . got some terrible experience with that one.

hmm

let us know the results of your new paddles. I have trouble with mine tweaking after a flight. Especially when doing like 4 points rolls or of that type. I tightned them down pretty hard. I can only think of putting flat spots on the flybar to help with the large torque.

With my regular Radix Stubz paddles, they never moved.
They have a grub screw built into the paddles that you tighten down.
No locktight, no flatspot, they just stay put
I hate it when paddles move

just got my new header from ronlund hobby shop. I will try it tomorrow. I have the same setup only that it has no pinhole.

Flew my heli today and really happy with the power only that I cannot eliminate the small high frequency vibe manifesting in my horizontal fins. I just want to learn to ignore it. by the way, I am planning to install the governor but I do not know the settings. maybe you can help me guys.
