When you say hot how hot are you saying. I used to be 270+, but now I am running wally's fan and am around 230-245 exhaust temps. Without the tuned pipe we got to 200 even with a v3 on exhaust temps.

Exhaust gas temperature has to be way above these numbers.

What could be more fun?

hmm

These numbers are not the pipe itself. This is the temp on the bottom of the engine where the gas is leaving the engine. Or the hottest part of the engine.

Ace could you provide some accurate data and how and why you believe the temps should be on the pipe itself. Also state the benifit of running hot(you believe.)

well..... Im done. Its just too much farting around with this thing.
My tuning problems were the start, then couplers popping, and now melting. All the while the plug looks great.
So I give up.
I have removed it from my heli, and put the Realheli/Hatori back on.
Now I have to get the bastard to stay on lol.
Im sure gonna miss the power though

If you bling it, they will come :D

Precisely where I've been! Gave up the power and went to a standard muffler, less power but much happier in performance and the muffler staying on.

Tuned pipes are powerful, but the troubles they bring are not worth it for me.

I can’t say I’m surprised to hear that, I didn’t like the way the engine ran with it and gave up early on.

I think I had to go there and get it out of my system before I could see sense

Suprisingly I got mine working very well in the end. Just heat became an issue and the couplers were un reliable.

Im actually looking forward to fuss free flying

Hi Shiro
Maybe that, also you run an oil ratio of 25/1 and mine is 40/1.
Either way, I have my Xtreme 90 for silly performance now.
The Maxum will be flown just for the pleasure of it

here she is sporting a newer conventional/reliable look.
I have used Locktight high temp copper RTV on the bolts, and am letting that set overnight.
Only did the engine part of the muffler, as Im expecting to have to re tighten that after the motor gets hot.
Once thats done then I'll do the muffler itself.
Im REALLY hoping that this doesnt become the pita that it used to be, coming loose every 10 mins.
Anyway, I think she still looks nice, just a bit more subtle

Look in my gallery.
There is a 450 in there with a Canomod canopy, same design.
I always liked it, plus its super high vis, cant lose it in the sky
Plus its different, and I hate doing "the norm"
Everyone that has seen it in person has liked it so far.
It doesnt photo very well, in person its darker than it looks.

If you bling it, they will come :D
