madog,
i just noticed that and there is another reason for that. It would seem to be better to have the long ball on the pitch arms and the short ball with the washout arms. The arms on the washout hit the edges of the swashplate at the higher cyclic angles. So i am just going to switch them around. I have not run it yet, i need some time and its too hot outside.

Ok guys, I ran it. Didn't fly it but i ran it to test the flight controls.

The controls are the same you do NOT have to change the servos around.

Other than that it seems to have a little vibration (might be from the woodys) and i think there is a little too much slop in the pitch system but i will work on it. But on the ground seems to have the same control responses as with the flybar.

I'm about half tempted to give this a go on my Raven 50... Would need to order the plastic washout arms, don't want to hack up my cnc ones, lol...

All in all though, if it quickens up the cyclics, I'm all for it!!!

what my question is "what keeps the Washout Hub from slopping up and down ??"

I mean wouldn't you need the Washout Hub stationary so the arms wouldn't bind at simetime ??

good question...

normally the links from the washout arms to the flybar would keep it stable, but with that gone that brings a good point.

I have it done on my hawk now and you don't seem to need to. Due to the lack of bell mixers the swash doesn't need to move as much as normal. So the most negative pitch you have won't make the swash go low enough to have the washout fall off the pins. I had the same concern myself, but after setting it up and playing with the controls it won't fall off and there is no binding. You just have to put the washout arms on the short ball(on a hawk swash).

I suppose you could drill and tap washout hub to be sure it doesn't move.

could even go as far as pulling the pins out and replacing with longer pins too... perhaps a little extra work, but in the long run better to be safe then sorry...

what happens if you dont put in a bunch of expo?
Way to quick on the cyclic movements?

Try it

No, you are correct. Your inputs will seem like they are 5x if you don't apply expo.

what is the speed of your servos and what did you reset your expo to? Wanting to know so I don't flip mine over when I pick it up the first time!!! It will give me a basis to judge mine off of.
