Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > Will this Flybarless rotorhead modification work?

You are looking at a 30 size nitro,Kalt Enforcer ZR rotorhead:
a) mCCPM
b) fixed swashplate - the collective pitch is effected by a rod through the center of the main shaft so that the swashplate does not move up and down the shaft; the washout unit does slides up and down.

The mod:
a) the seesaw was immobilized i.e., it does not tilt inside the head
b) the stabilizer bar was cut off.

It appears to meet the criteria for flybarless operation. I am tempted to fly it without stabilizing electronics for now. Collective pitch remains at plus/minus 9.5 degrees; cyclic at 6 degrees. Cost of mod.= $0.00 consuming about an hour and a half of my time.

Any comments or feedback will be appreciated? Thank you, Ken

It looks OK to me. It should be able to fly.

The extra linkages from modified wash out to the rotor hub is fixed (non movable) right? That is to prevent the wash out from dropping/moving up-down right?

Super-Hornet,
Yes, the solid white nylon links hold the end of one arm of the washout assembly stationary, but the slider still slides up and down in order to change the collective pitch. The system does function as it should. However, on its maiden flight the heli shook due to inherent resonance on spool up and down. Once in a hover it was okay. Part of the resonance could be due to the main blades being too tight. No stabilizing electronics was used. The cyclic authority was poor and expo must be experimented with. A considerable amount of time must be devoted to make this heli fly as well as one with a flybar. Thanks for your interest and your time for examining my modification. Ken

Two bladed heli should not (or very rare) to have ground resonance. Your is probably blades too loose or your blades are not straight when spin up.

Try using harder/stronger O ring damper and see how.

Oh yah... the wash out should be able to move up/down. Else u cannot change the blade pitch for collective. My mistake...hehe!
