I would like to know what alternate paddles are being used/tried and whether Radix 600 blades can be used or if it is best to stay with the Razors.

I have a pair of Radix mains and I love em. The paddles are CF but I forget the name but I will look it up and post later...Ron

I use 3-D Mikado paddles (plastic), NHP razor blades and Radix 600.
I feel no difference with the paddle.
For the blades, I have definitively more lift with the Radix and autorotation are easier with them.

I am currently running SAB mains and standard paddles, but would like to try the Radix mains.
Are you sleeving the blades for the 3mm blade bolts, or modifying the blade holders to accomodate 4mm bolts?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that

thanks for the replies I will look foward to trying the Radix when I am sorted and get this baby in the air.
One of the brass paddle holders has a stripped thread so I will be changing that out and looking at other paddle options as well. The guy I bought the model from told me the MA white paddles "are supposed to be the ones to use" and I have two pairs of these but they are normally glued on so i'm not sure whether to try them just screwed in place or not

3DMPE

One thing to remember here...PADDLES are just Paddles...meaning that you can use ANY 3mm paddles on that machine...usually the only thing that matters is what your flying style is and what you want out if it...if you want BALLISTIC cyclic speed...get a set of the 3mm STUBZ paddles....they are the fastest paddles I have ever tried...

if you want fast and cheap...get a set of the trex 600 paddles or a set of the lightweight mikado paddles...

A 4mm drill bit and about 30 seconds is all it took me to "Upgrade" my 3DMPE to 4mm main blade bolts...Honestly...I think it's INSANE to fly a 600mm bladed heli on 3mm bolts especially one as fast and powerful as the 3DMPE...For gods sake..the trex 450 uses a 3mm bolt...

What you REALLY need is a Vbar and flybarless.....

Did you do the drilling on the machine? I would worry about going off square a bit.

drilling...

I literally just started drilling at the top and drilled right through to the bottom...just be careful to drill straight and you'll be fine...

the whole process took me all of 30 seconds to do both sides...and this is with my old as$ dewalt 14.4 volt handheld drill...

how are you fitting the stubz paddles? as the brass bush is 5mm OD are you useing a different flybar or threading the ends of the henseleit one? or using some other method as I dont think the stubs screw is enough to hold them on it's own

Paddles...

The flybar is a 3mm flybar...meaning that any 3mm paddle will fit on this flybar...the brass collar on the stock paddles is just there to secure the paddle onto the flybar because there are no threads...Personally I would swap that stock flybar out for an Align 440mm flybar and use some other paddles...if you want to keep the stock flybar and use stubz that is no prb though...as the stubz have a set screw that will hold the paddle in place..

thanks for the reply i'm going to fit a new brass bush and try original paddles first as a bench mark before trying the longer version of Align fly bar with either the Align or stubz paddles
