I was hoping the 10C would be PCM 2048 resolution like the 12FG..

The Airtronocs RDS8000 is looking better all the time..

I have a Futabs 8UAFS and 8UAPS. I'll go into the 2.4 at some point. Since I have to swap receivers anyway, why wouldn't I consider an Airtronics transmiter?

I have never owned airtronics. Can anyone shed some light?

Why regress? Your 8C is module based isn't it? Then you can switch to 2.4 and still keep your 72 around if you want.

Airtronics is under new ownership (global hobby distributors, aka hobby people). I think the lower prices is their attempt to re-gain the market share lost in past few years. I played with one of the radio at local hobby people store and it has all the quality known for Sanwa radios. Very nice radio, and certainly a bargain at the asking prices.

But I am sticking with Futaba since I've been using it forever. switching would cost me an arm and a leg.

Yes, I like Futaba, and lean towards staying Futaba.

When you swap modules from 2.4 to 72mhz, do you do anythng else?

I assume the radio doesn't care, so to speak. Does it matter is the radio is PCM or PPM? I'm thinking a PCm may have to be switched back to PPM?

As far as the airtronics option, does the comparable Airtronics radio have a grapical representation of the throttle and pitch curves? That's somethingI really like on the 9c etc.

thanks

For all that have a 9c and are upgrading to the 10 2.4 you will be able to use the 9c 72 mhz module in the new 10 2.4

Do you have any info on whether the 10C will have the full PCM fail-safe screen like the 12/14 (in FASST MULT mode)? The TM-10 seems to have another connector over on the side for a direct digital connection. 10C should also work with 50 MHz modules ?

The answer

Yes, the 10C will work with 50mzh.

It has fail safe on all the channels when using the TM-10 module. When using the 72 or 50 MHz modules, then it goes to the default like the 9C.

When you plug the TM-10 into a 10C, does it disable the magic button on the back and give you a range check screen ?

My last question was poorly worded since the TM-10 only fits the 10C - presumably because of the extra side connector hump.

The question should have been does it have a button on the back ? Or is it like the TM-14 ?

The Futaba chart gives the TM-10 and TM-14 the same receiver compatibility so I assume the same 7 channel mode. What's the deal with the TM-7 and TM-8 having a different 7 channel mode ?

So will this TX only be available end on April? Or can we buy one now? At Esprit they say pre-order and shipment end of April.

I wish I could fly 24/7

this is the feed back i got

It doesn't have a button on the back like the others.

We've just found out from Futaba that the 10C is now 2048 in resolution, so that may eliminate the 7 channel mode. I'm not 100% sure of that yet.

Thanks Dino;

I suspect that it only means that the TM-10/10C is like the TM-14 and has everything that you need to do on a screen - range check, mode select, fail-safe. It most probably has a 7 channel OR FASST mult switching capability. The 2048 is reported by Great Planes as being for the FASST mult mode. If the 10C has the entire PCM fail-safe screen, then it is the second (BOTH FUTABA) radio to be fully integrated in the 2.4 GHz realm.

Since this is a brand new radio, why can't Futaba route the antenna from the top of the TM-10 module between the handle and transmitter back ? You know, since the TM-10 only fits the 10C anyway. The rather kludgy TM-14 design disappeared before production. Longer handle, antenna out the top of the module.

Hi Guys,

Just a couple of points of clarification on some questions about the new 10C that I've seen asked here.

It is 2048 resolution. I know the prototypes face plate shows 1024, but again that is a prototype. This was confirmed by Japan on Friday.

It has excellent latency figures, totally blows the 9C away in this catagory. You'll note the "bump" on the module, this is where it picks up the totally digital data stream with this module to give you the very fast speed that this system has.

The 9C 72 MHz modules will work in it.

The display is backlit.

It does have a full fail-safe screen.

I hope this helps, it's really a nice radio!
