Futaba

I'd prefer an integrated system also. Maybe some day the need will arise for a transmitter that's not on 2.4 Ghz, but it's hard to see how that might happen within the next couple of years. By the time it happens, I'll probably just get a whole new radio anyway. The other negative I see is the cost of receivers. There's no way I'm going to buy a radio which needs a $220.00, or even $160.00 receiver. Shane hopes the radio will be better at CCPM mixing and faster than the 9C. Since it's not out yet and hasn't been independently tested, we'll see whether it is or not. Finally a 6 volt receiver doesn't allow one to use a 2 cell Lipo w/o a regulator. The radio certainly looks interesting, but there's still a few things that aren't quite there yet for me. steve.

900 MHz is being developed, and will be available very shortly. Few years? More like months, maybe weeks . . .

I assume you have seen the ~100$ 7 channel receivers that will work with this.

So what would be the advantage of 900Mhz and if it's taken Futaba close to 2 years to come out with a 2.4 Ghz radio, why should I think they'll have a 900 Mhz one in a matter of weeks? Call it what you want, but having two antennas, one of which isn't doing anything seems strange to me.
Greg, I haven't kept up with the Futaba lineup of 2.4 Ghz receivers and just referenced the one that's listed on Tower's web site for this radio and the 8 channel one that was mentioned on this thread. I've got 3 electric planks with Spektrum Rx's that only cost $50.00 a piece, so they're still a good bit cheaper than what Futaba has to offer. My other plank and the two 90 size helis i own have the Spektrum 7 channel receivers which are ~$100.00 each and would be comparable. Thanks for the info. steve.

This Futaba T10C is only a prototype ?

Why it do not haves letters and numbers near switchs ?
We can update internal software or conect to the computer ?

It is not an expensive Tx, maybe around 500$ for the PCM version + R1410DP

F9C price is near 475$ with RF + R319DPS

Why would you want to pay $500 for a PCM Tx? Go to the electronic section in here, you can pick one up alot cheaper then that!

I did not take these photos they are from the Nuremberg toy Fair. From the looks of the pics that are out it looks to have a back light screen which would be amazing !!

This radio is Module built, and can be purchased in 2.4 Fasst version or 72mhz... so its not 'just' a PCM radio. It looks to be built from the ground up to incorporate the Fasst technology. Looks like a great mid/high end radio in my opnion

Heres another pic from the event of the back of the radio

Talking with Hobbico people at E-fest, the 10 will come first as a 2.4 system, module based with the 6014 receiver. Street price expected to be right under $500US. Looks like a great radio, had a chance to handle and play with.

God that is ugly.. sorry guys but it just is.

Price is dead on for what you get.

I find it a problem that the TX handle sits above or forward of the antenna. I don't know about you but I put my radio down on the bench quite a bit. Seems that antenna system is looking to get hurt.

just my opinion

I agree looks like a terrible design. The antenna should have been inside the handle so it protected from laying on its back. The step out on the module sticks out way to far. I hope its a prototype

There is a step on all of the larger modules for just that reason, to keep from placing it on the antenna. Actually works like a built in transmitter stand, keeps it at just the right angle when you do sit it on the bench.

I picked up the radio at efest and went through the menus. The menu is the same as a 9c with the added toggle of the 12z and 12fg. The toggle makes it even quicker to run through the menus. It does have a backlight display that is very bright. It uses the 10ch module in pcm mode and you get full 1024 resolution. When i talked to Frank Noll he said the prototype that they had at the show was much quicker than the 9c. I am sold on the radio, it is a very good value.

so if the 2 antennas are there, can you switch back and forth between 72 and 2.4 just by flicking a switch or a setting? that would be neat! dang april is gunna be an expensive month for me..

Module/Antenna swap

I would think that the antenna will be handled by the module. One of the pins on the module connector is the antenna connection. The 2.4 module would leave that open and use it's integrated antenna.
Of course, this is just a guess in my part...

Yes you can switch back and fourth from 72 and 2.4 with your 9c antenae and 72mhz module.
