Bad Karma has pretty well answered your questions. I will just make sure it’s really clear.

1. i just got my 10C. why i can still see the PCM 1024 printed on the
screen.

Because it does 1024 step (10 bit) resolution in PCM mode when a FM RF module is installed in place of the current TM-10 2.4Ghz module.

Quote
2. i am planning to use r6014fs and r608fs for my helis. which mode
should i use - ppm, pcm1024 or pcm2048? because previously i was
using 9C super. i use PPM for r608fs.

You use 2.4Ghz 10 channel mode which you select by entering 2.4Ghz-10ch for modulation which BTW is the default setting for the radio so no need to change it at all for those receivers.

Quote
3. if it is PCM 2048, how can i select that? which rx is compatible
with that resolution?

No it is NOT 2048 PCM that is why it is written on the front 1024 PCM. It is 2048 10 channel 2.4Ghz only.

The receivers you use are the ones you are going to use namely R6014FS and R608FS and they will give you 2048 step (11 bit) resolution but you also have to use 2048 step (11 bit) resolution servos to notice anything.

Example of 2048 step (11 bit) resolution servos are the new Hitec digital HS-79xx G2 2nd generation series of servos or the Futaba newer digital servos such as the brushless BLSxxx series of servos.

I suspect the S9255 servos should also be 2048 step resolution since they come with the 14MZ.

reckless loony & bad karma,

thanks so much for the detail explanations.

currently, i am running my heli with ACE 1213 servos for my cyclic and Futaba 9254 for both throttle and rudder. Are they 2048 resolution servos?

Love the mod on the HF antenna. What did you put in there?

It is a handle from a small dust mop. The top of a black sharpie fine point black marker works just as good. It has a clean finish that fits over the antenna with out removing it. One can use the antenna if need be.

SHOULD I CONVERT MY 9ZHP TO 2.4GHS OR BUY NEW 10C

Woudering should I convert my 9ZHP radio, buy the 2.4MHZ modual or buy the 10C, is the software that much better. I looked at the 10C seemed like a cheap plastic junk compared to the to the metal case of the 9Z.I really like my radio very used to it, just need you folks opinions......Chuck

If you really like the 9Z (Great radio), just convert it to 2.4.
Your choice on the receivers, the 617 works great, less expensive as long as you don't need more than 7 channels.

There has been lots of talk about being able to intergrate 72Mhz and 50Mhz modules from the 9C - I have a 9C radio with a 40Mhz module fitted, and was woundering if this also could be used in the 10C?

Can the 10C buddy box to a 14mz without having to have the old channel assignments? ie. does the 10c support the grouping like the 14mz?

Never heard of ACE 1213 servo.
Futaba s9254 cannot be a 2048 res. servo. I don't think 2048 res. was available when 9254 come out.

kcordell,

Why did you say 617 Rx for 9Z. Will 608 Rx NOT work with 9Z that has 2.4 GHz module?

I was thinking to conver my 9Z but I may need more than 7 channels sometimes.

"metal case of the 9Z" - the only metal I see on my 9Z is a little bit where the handle is attached.

Yes, you can. I emailed Futaba & asked if my 40mhz 8UHP module is ok in the 10C and they said no worries. 8uhp & 9C module are the same.
So now I can flick between 2.4 & 40mhz..
