I'm happy for you. But now every time I see a blown ESC I wonder if it was because the built-in BEC is underrated and got smoked. Mine was close to melting when I was pulling 50% of BEC's rated current.

Looks like more "Good" than bad Ragtop (smoke from its bowels) The ferrite looks like very inexpensive glitch insurance. On the battery ragtop, as long as you didn't slice thru the silver foil and only the green shrinkwrap, you should be fine. I see the beginnings of "purply goodness" : Maybe a 25 amp or higher ESC with a separate BEC might be the way to go for even more insurance.

if you punctured the foil...I would not use that battery and I would get it out of the house as quickly as possible

I guess working with high voltage everyday I get a little desensitized. Id get some copper tape from where I work patch the whole get some new heatshrink also from work shrink it and keep on flyin. Just need to keep the electrolytic from leaking out all over. But thats me not you take all the info in stride and do what feels right to you.

thats the good thing about a cellpro 4s charger you can repair the pack and see how it charges keeping an eye on it it will shut down if the cell is damaged found that out on an old BCPP pack with a bad cell. Your all right it is dangerous its like one of those dont try this at home we are profesionals things but rarely are they professionals they just have an emergency crew on hand.

After seeing a bunch of vids. about Batts. going up in flames, Im Scared-2-Death, evan to charge them in the cabin, or close to the truck. I am lucky that the under water camera we got to look at whats on the bottom, under our dock, came with a Gell Battery, big enought to start my Full Dressed Harley, if I still had it. Pics comming Tryan. Im so new here, and what I saw on Do-Not-Tube, im scared to death to charge them other that the middle of Wally-World, parkin-lot. Now, I know why lap-tops burn house's down, and KILL People. Im sure were safe with a good pac. BUT,At what point in time dose a safe battery, become "A-Killer".........? It's like having a Red Head, in the family,( I Have 3 ) at what point do they turn on ya...........? When it gets "Ugly" Yr the Last One To Know.

NO VIDEO!? NOT EVEN PICS!? Dude, you gotta learn how things work around here...

Now go get another LiPo, borrow a camera...

Basically - no visual documentation = didn't officially happen.
