My stock swash plate has a lot of play in it can i replace just the swash with metal and use stock on everything else?

Your talkin King right? If so then Yes, I believe thats ok because if you search swash here you can find pictures of just the purple swash and the rest plastic

This is the metal swash as well as the metal washout assembly. I replaced both because the washout had a fair bit of slop. I have the rest of the metal head but won't put it until I've earned it.

Considering that my blade tracking was so bad that I couldn't get off the ground, I'd say yes. It also helped to reduce the tail vibrations.

The metal swash was the first metal upgrade I did. Didn't notice a heckuva lot of difference on tracking, but cyclic was definitely crisper and more precise. If tracking is what you're trying to improve with a metal upgrade, the washout would be better. When I added the metal washout, tracking was improved noticeably.

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.
