Kyosho Caliber 30 & 60 - Concept - Nexus > How many regular Concept flyers...?

I am curious as to how many of you guys regularly fly one or more Concept helis, and if so, what type it is (eg: C30SX, C60SR etc).

How much do they get flown compared to your other helis...?

Be nice to get an idea of how many are still flying on a regular basis.

I just made the 4000th flight on my Kyosho Concept 30. It started life as a SE, but overtime
was upgraded to SX. It is still goung strong. -Steve

Concept 60 SR11, renovated it last year, now flies real nice, and oh so smooooth! Still flies with a mechanical gyro, and with a digital tail servo, the tail is really well damped, and easy to control. They might be old, but they're great helis!

Concept 30SX based Jet Ranger. Haven't flown it in a while - I am in the process of changing the engine and gyro at the moment and looking forward to flying it again soon...

The Concept 30 was my first heli back in the 90's. I used to love that thing. Taught me how to hover and basic FF.

Where do you guys get parts for these?

You have to hunt around, ebay and alike. Midland Helicopters in the UK still have quite a bit of stuff. I have another 30 in bits and quite a lot of other spares. Recently I managed to get some original white skids from Kyosho America after putting a post on here.

I still fly my two SR's. Finding parts is a joke for me ... but who cares really? That is part of the fun keeping them in the air.

I have a Raptor Titan and A Sceadu Evo and I always end my flying day with one or two flights with my Concept VR46. ebay and Midland is were I get parts when I need them. I have thought about selling it but after a flight or two I just can't give up the old girl. Some day when there are no more parts to be had I my sell her on ebay.

Great to see so many of the old girls still flying. I have a few days break from work coming up soon - a well-earned rest...! Plan to rebuild the Concept I lost to tail blade failure.

Anyone recommendations on a 500mm composite main blade I can use and where to get a set...? 12mm root as I run SR grips. 3mm bolt hole (or a 4mm with a supplied sleeve is fine). Also recommendations on a composite tail blade also appreciated. Needs to be a 500mm blade as I am running the shorter DX/SE boom. I guess 515's are too big, or are they...?

Dialarotor - thanks for the plug If I can help you guys with parts, just shout.

I'm not quite certain but

Quick 10/16 blades? I think they are 500mm with a 3mm bolt hole, but 10mm blade root thickness. You might have to do a bit more research though, and perhaps a post on the quick forum.

Another option is perhaps MS composite. I was ofter some blades for my old Nexus scalse ship and an email direct to them (luckily there was an Aussie working there who was keen as mustard to hear directly from another Aussie) and no issues, 540mm semi symetrical carbons on the way (530mm was standard length).

Couple of options for you to look at I hope. Good luck.

Thanks red_sash for the pointers. I'll do a bit of digging over the next few days and see what I can come up with.

Cheers

The yellow one is a Concept 60SR
The Jetranger is a Concept 60
The Hughes 500 is a Concept 30SR with Zeal bits

Oh and there is a Caliber 5 M Electric.

They all fly...in fact my son has learnt mostly on the C 60SR...very stable. Parts for the Concept 60s are getting a bit hard...no more transmission cases that I can find.

Cheers

Michael
